Remarks
This being a reputed and an old college in Rajasthan was my first choice. Also it is near to my home town. This is a government college so the fees was also low - 75 thousand per semester. Also i had researched a bit more before selecting this college and all the facts had been true. This college has some of the best faculties with great infrastructure. My elder brother has also passed out from this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was updated in 2018, but not much has changed. So the course curriculum is still out dated according to industry standards. Academics are also quite okay. There are over 100 faculty members available, all supportive and ready to teach. Everyone is working hard, teaching regularly in this pandemic time. Some are also teaching for GATE specifically.
Placement Experience
Placement opportunities are not good for other branches except for CS/IT and petroleum/petrochemical. IT companies offer jobs to every branch student if they can pass the initial placement tests like the aptitude test and the coding round. The IT companies like wipro, tcs, infosys are the mass recruiters. Other companies also come but don't hire much students. Highest packages are 12 lakhs per annum or 25 lakhs per annum, but since these are bagged only by a single student, these shouldn't matter. It was his/her skill that landed them the job. The average package is 3 lakhs per annum.
College Events
Campus life is fun. Thar the annual tech fest is really great. It is a day technical festival here at RTU. other college students participated in various tasks. And all three nights were musical nights, performed by professional singers. 10+ clubs are active in college, both technical and non-technical. Robotics and SRC(SAI RTU Chapter) are the most famous clubs in the college. Other CS/IT related clubs are also really active. Any student from any branch can participate in any of the clubs.
Campus Life
Gymnasium contains the tennis, badminton and table tennis inside the building. The first floor has the machines required for exercising, somewhat old but all working. Lawn tennis ground is being constructed. Existing grounds are cricket, volleyball, football and basketball. Library is sufficient for about 100+ students at a time. High speed internet connected PCs are available to get any information or download any material you want. Lab equipment are old but are being replaced nowadays. Maybe we will get all the new apparatus after the college opens.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are okay, they have been recently painted so they are looking fresh. Otherwise also it was not so bad. The first year students are provided the hostel started in 2019, so its pretty good. Food quality is good and if you want better then the students comittee will do the work for you. The menu can be changed every 3 months or so. Hostel room fee is 9000 per student per year, and the mess fee is 22500 per semester. Additional charge of 1500 is added per semester for other facilities such as newspaper, television and wifi which is not so good. Other than this its all your expenses. You shouldn't pay anything more than this. Moreover the mess fee per sem is deducted if you don't eat for a full day in the next sem.
