Remarks

NSUT, Delhi, formerly NSIT, Delhi is an engineering college based in Dwarka, New Delhi. The atmosphere of this college is very studious, and one will eventually start to enjoy studying in the library, classes, etc. Classes are a little old, especially in the old blocks, but the newer blocks like NB and Ambedkar Lecture hall are very nice and AC. The library and Student Activity Center are also AC and spacious. The grounds are big, and many people can play at the same time. Admission is done through JAC Delhi, which also handles admissions to DTU, IGDTUW, and IIITD. The process generally starts in June-end to July first week, and continues till the second week of August, although classes start in the first week of August. There is a centralized portal (imsnsit) where all notices and circulars are posted. Also, they email you and there is also a telegram channel for important messages.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose the course Mathematics and Computing as I have an interest in both maths and computers, and so far it's been really good studying here. The course is a little bit maths heavy, especially in the maths courses, but you can handle it with practice. Some faculty are good, some aren't, but that depends on your perception really, but still, I would prefer self-study as well as listening in class. They all are well qualified, and they have a lot of knowledge, especially the professors, the assistant professors are a little less so, but many of them care about giving you knowledge, and hence they will try their best at doing that. The exams are good enough, there's relative marking on batches greater than 30, so everyone mostly gets average marks. Passing in an exam you appear for is easy, but be careful you don't get detained! There are two exams mid sem and endsem, and class tests in between, anytime.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Many big names like Microsoft, Facebook, etc get interns from here. They have their own selection programs one has to get selected through. Stipends offered are good for the big names, but some are unpaid as well.

Placement Experience

5

Students become eligible for placements from 7th semester. Many big companies come, and offer big packages of 40+ lpa. Mostly all of the students get placed. Average package is around 12 lpa. Many companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft etc come here in tech fields. Also many finance companies like Bain, Sprinklr, etc come for finance positions.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees policy is a little steep, but that's the case with all colleges in Delhi. The fees increases by about 20000 each year. However, the cost to study is a little less, as much of the infrastructure of the college comes in handy here. For eg, the library is a good place to study and get books, there are two photocopy shops in the campus itself, and a book shop right outside.

Campus Life

4.5

Overall campus life is good, although there isn't much of a nightlife and a strict curfew. The annual cultural fest Moksha is conducted in March, and is a lot of fun, although our batch hasn't seen it, due to COVID. The library is big and many books are available in it, also a lot of space to study over long breaks. Sports facilities are good but not the best. The ground is big, but the sports available are less, so bring your own stuff, as the stuff gets booked real quick.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

If you study passionately and have decent communication skills and some important competencies, I assure you that you will secure a position in a great company. Here at IIT Delhi, you earn what you work for; you can receive salary packages as high as 2 crores, but some offers start as low as 4 lakhs per annum.
