Remarks

The college is one of the top minority colleges in the city and it's located at Banjara hills, besides ease of traveling, the campus is huge and has good faculty and lab equipment. My rank was 21k+ and I couldn't get into CSE, so I had to choose IT here, although the subjects of both CS and IT are almost the same in B.E. To know more about the college you can visit the official website and see all the stuff here mjcollege.ac.in I preferred this college over others because of the college's reputation, placement chances, faculty and other factors.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose Information Technology because of the fact I loved computers and started programming during intermediate. The class strength was somewhere between 60-70, the faculty was in a good amount, meaning you'd find different lecturers for different sections, the faculties allotted were highly qualified and many had a master's degree and their teaching method was good. Normally, some faculty would take weekly exams, assignments, tutorials as per the instructions, and quiz, etc., some would prefer not to conduct additional exams other than what's required. The difficulty was medium.

Placement Experience

3.5

The students become eligible for campus placements from 3rd year, ending semester. Some of the companies were Infosys, Tata consultancy, etc. the highest and average packages are available on the official college website. Around 40-60 % of students from each would get placed. My plan after getting a degree is to find a suitable job and work.

Fees and Financial Aid

Over the years the fees rose from 85k to 1L+ per year. The scholarship can be availed easily with respect to the income of the family, attendance percentage, the marks in eamcet. Since there are plenty of opportunities for internships and job placements here.

Campus Life

3.5

The annual fest was adsophos, actually, there were a lot of fests conducted in the college. The library was pretty useful and had lots of books and available most of the time. Every class had one projector and some useful amenities. There were 2 big grounds, students interested can participate in the sports and can apply for matches etc. Some of the famous groups/clubs in college were MSS, CSI, ACM, ROBOTICS etc

Interview Experience

4

There were no GD, or any interview questions or tests for the admission, except you had to meet the rank for the college in eamcet. The process would be explained by the academic section, they would ask the respective files to be submitted to the college.

Placement Experience:

From 4th sem itself students are eligible for placements. Although students get access to paid internships from their 1st year itself, just they need some effort. But as NIAT is yet new and no batch has passed out yet so we still don't have the exact placement percentage rate. But as we are getting paid internships from 1st year itself so it's very evident that placement would also be good

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
