Remarks

I applied for Ramanujan College only because of the unique course i.e BA programme [Accounting+Finance and Economics] which was only available in 2 colleges, Ramanujan College and PGDAV Evening. Although I did some research and found that Ramanujan college is better than PGDAV evening and I applied for it. The admission criteria of the course BA programme [Accounting+Finance and Economics] was merit-based. The first cutoff went 92% and I applied at the very moment. My form was approved and I paid the fees of 15000 by the portal of Delhi University Website. The admission was quite easy as I was under the criteria which were 50% in English mainly. And meeting the requirements of total cut-off that was 92% although mine was 93.5%.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose this course because it is unique and teaches several parts of other courses as well like in the course BA Programme [accounting+finance and economics] we have some syllabus of B.Com some of the Eco Honours. The faculty members are amazing here, they are too friendly they know about the lives of students and cooperate with them in their highs and lows. The staff of IT is also good. Initially, I had problems at the time of the OBE examination and they helped me a lot. I mailed them my issue and in about half an hour the issue was resolved. Most of the teachers are PhD. They all have very High knowledge of their respective subjects and are too friendly with their students. The examination mode for us in the 2020 batch was OBE that is an open book examination where we have to submit the answers online. Initially, it was hard to understand the concept but after the Mock test that was also called the exam training, it became easy. Question papers were also pretty good.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The companies offering internships are Viral Fission, Adecco, WhiteHat Jr, Mahindra, Flipkart, Haldiram etc. On an average stipend of 7K a month. The tasks are mostly related to marketing, content writing, business development and sales.

Placement Experience

4

The Ramanujan College has its own Placement cell, and I am a so part of it. It avails a lot of placement opportunities for our students. The companies that visited our college are as follows Amazon, ICICI, ICICI prudential, PayTm, Parle, PhonePe, KPMG, Kaveri Infotech, Flipkart, Mahindra, Viral Fission etc. The highest package offered was 8 LPA. And the profile was a financial analyst. The percentage of getting placement after completing the course from the college is 70%. My plans after getting a degree are to get placed in a good company on a high package.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of the course BA programme [Accounting + Finance and Economics] is 15000 a year, which is affordable and I would say most affordable in all universities as compared to the quality of education. Ramanujan college also gives scholarships to students who are unable to pay the fees as the underprivileged quota. Ramanujan college also gives internships in the college itself where we can earn a good amount by doing the tasks respectively. Scholarship can be availed by proving that you are unable to pay the fee of the year.

Campus Life

4

Ramanujan College as being a part of Delhi University is filled with extracurricular activities. This college is famous for the cricket sport as the team is marvellous. The annual fest of the college is called Josh organised by several societies and college. The college also has a big library where we can issue books and can also read in the reading room. There are lots of social groups like DNA, FinJan etc.

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
