Remarks

The application process when I applied was fully online(post-pandemic scenario). I applied to The Heritage College(thc.edu.in) through its website and the process was quite smooth. I was informed through mail that I have selected as a student after few days. I had to submit the required and proper documents and pay the admission fees accordingly. The admission criteria in The Heritage College are strictly followed according to the norms of the University of Calcutta. The cut-off mark for English honors is 65% and the intake of students is 60. Students must have been declared passed by a recognized Indian education board.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

English literature is my favorite subject from school. English honors will help me learn more about the authors and the literature I love, but it will also teach me the vast history of the language. I wish to research this subject in the future, and this course will help me to prepare for it. It will enhance my knowledge and thrive my skills and ability. The faculty: student ratio is 4:55. I am blessed to have beautiful and skilled faculty in my college. All my professors are extremely knowledgeable and always there to help us, not only within the boundary of academics; but they also share personal experiences and instances, making learning fun and joyful. The classes were held online since the beginning of the course due to the pandemic; but our professors never wanted us to miss any class and took regular classes, regardless of any problem. Our semester 1 exams also commenced online. The checking was very lenient and the average score of our class is 7.4-8.0 SGPA.

Internships Opportunities

5

I am still pursuing my course and internship offers are not made to me yet. But our college offers quite a lot of internship which leads to job offers. At Heritage, an all-out effort is made to groom the students for enhanced employability.

Placement Experience

4

Training and placement cell complements the efforts of the members of faculty by organizing value-added programs and providing career counseling and placement opportunities to students. It acts as the major interface with the corporate sector and helps develop the industry-academia interrelationship. The cell organizes certain orientation programs, grooming sessions, mock interview sessions for students of each stream. Moreover, the cell organizes various summer internship programs for students to provide them with hands-on experience, thus introducing them to the professional environment. The cell continuously coordinates with various industries and organizations for the placement of students. It actively obtains feedback from organizations and conveys it to respective departments which, in turn, trains students accordingly, thereby increasing their employability. At Heritage, an all-out effort is made to groom the students for enhanced employability.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees per semester for English honors are Rs. 31,500. Admission fee: Rs. 10,000. Caution money of Rs. 10,000 is taken, which is refunded at the end of the course. Total payable amount at the time of admission: Rs. 51,500.

The college campus has many amenities for the benefit and welfare of its students. Such as library, auditorium, cafeteria, common room, spacious and airy lecture rooms. There is an excellent facility for outdoor games and sports. The department of physics and chemistry have well equipped specially built laboratories. Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum provides a comprehensive retrospective of literature from the Old English period to Modern period, while also including English works by Indian authors to demonstrate the diversity and evolution of English literature over the years. The current curriculum I believe requires more seminars and lectures from guest faculties on contemporary research and topics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love to read English and it's easy for me so that's why I choose it. There are a total of 50 students in this course. Our teachers are very helpful and talented and also support us. We have 2 semesters after 6 months in 1 year. Exams are comfortable for the students who study the subject. It is difficult for those who do not study.
