Remarks

I did specifically apply to MGR as I knew about the university before. I got admission based on my 12th class score. Anyone who has more than 55% will get admission. College also provides scholarships to all the students who have good scores in 12th. Students are permitted to take admissions via management quota. The admission process is straightforward, they give you specific dates to attend for document verification and according to our grades, they tell us the probability of getting admission in the specific department. Students who have cleared JEE Mains can also apply to MGR via counseling. There is no age limit for Ph.D. applicants, but for bachelors, they check if there is an education gap. For CSE and Mechanical seats, there is a bit of competition as compared t other departments. Mostly all non-local students can avail themselves of the chance for a scholarship depending upon the scores which they have got in 12th and can also avail scholarship for Masters.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I choose Computer Science as I was interested. The course curriculum is updated every year and electives are also pretty good according to the latest industry standards. The faculty to student ratio is around 1:20. In the Computer Science department, there are very few faculties who have PhDs but almost everyone has a master's degree. Faculties have KT sessions with the latest industry expert every Quater. Exams are very easy and almost every student who studies will get above-average marks in all the subjects. Practicals are also a bit harsh, it's a bit tough compared to theory exams. Students hail from almost every state in which Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu students are in majority. Most of the faculty have decent communication skills. Exam scores are mostly cumulative of internal and external scores. Internals are judged based on assignments, CAT, and pre-university exams. 50 % score is taken from the university exam and university exams are held with proper seat allocation..

Internships Opportunities

3

There are very few internship opportunities available while in the third and fourth years. But there is an international exchange internship program where students can participate and get full-time opportunities if possible. There are on-campus projects where students are involved in building websites and if they find it useful they give full-time internship paid offers from the compute Science department. During the third year, there are many non-technical internships available for all students. Department also provides full attendance to all the students who are participating in the internships and encourages to participate more in such activities. There are top companies like Sutherland, Avin, Tata Motors, Bosch, etc considering students for internship opportunities during the third year and fourth year. Students can also participate in other departmental activities and build projects which support the university. All the best student projects and ideas are considered for a funding round

Placement Experience

3

They support internships during the final and third years. There are many small companies visiting but technical jobs are less compared to non-tech jobs. The highest package will be around 7 to 8 LPA, while almost the lowest will be around 1 to 2 LPA. On average, 3 to 4 LPA is common. Not many students sit for placements and there are only a few people getting placed every year for technical jobs. Many students opt for higher studies and some opt for the entrepreneur domain. There are 50 to 100 hundred companies visiting every year and they take more than 200 students from all departments. There placement training programs available in the third year where students are trained on the question and exam patterns. Top companies like TCS, Wipro, CTS, Infosys hire in bulk. Students tend to sit for placements from the third year and the placement team support students in job search till the eighth semester. Students from ECE, EEE, and Mechanical get the lowest offers

Fees and Financial Aid

There are no campus jobs available. The fee structure is almost the same for every year but changes sometimes ( 2- 3 % hike in fees). Scholarships are rolled out based on either 12th class scores or individual semester score performance. Almost every student can get a scholarship if they apply. There are various scholarships like President Scholarship, Merit Scholarship, etc. There is no financial assistance available on campus but the college supports paid internships during the college. The cost of the study is around 90 thousand every year while the hostel facility is good where they charge around 80 thousand every year for food, accommodation, and transport charges to the main campus from the hostel. There are plenty of PGs available around the college to cut the cost of living. As the college is in the city center students also work part-time near the college as tutors, artists, etc. Overall it's an affordable college with an easy scoring system and has good infrastructure facilities on the campus

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good. There are extra circular activities like events, fests, sports activities, festival celebrations, etc. Every year each department has individual fests where students organize activities and make the event successful. Sporting activities like interdepartmental competitions in cricket, volleyball, chess, TT, basketball, etc are organized. Students take part in a lot of inter-departmental every year. Classroom amenities include projectors and spacious benches. There a lot of social groups like NSS, Blood donation clubs, etc in which there are lot of activities going on, There are clubs like Mozilla, Coding club where students are permitted to take challenges and get a chance to visit abroad nations like UK, Korea, USA, etc. We have a spacious library available 24 by 7 on the main campus which supports both ebooks and normal books. Every quarter they update their books with the latest publications and journals. University has a separate library for each domain

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel is present in the First year campus location. There are individual blocks for Boys and Girls. Boys campus have A, B, C, D blocks in which there students from all domains like medical, engineering, degree, architecture, etc. Hostel fees are around 80 thousand per year which includes food, accommodation, and transport facility. The registrar process pretty easy, we have submitted all our proofs of college and have to pay the fees in the Dean's office and can select our room and block. There are two Messes available in the hostel, one for North Indians and tother for south Indians. Food quality is good and students can choose either of the mess. They provide special food on occasions and there also provide snacks with tea and coffee every evening. There are three people in each room. Students can choose either Ac or Non AC rooms. AC rooms cost 30 thousand more than normal rooms and students can opt for bus facility which costs around 5 thousand every year with WIfi facility...

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
