Krishi vigyan sansthan darshan in nutshell

Applied for the institute of agricultural sciences Banaras Hindu university and got selected through the entrance examination( as it is the sole criterion for taking admission) securing 12th rank and there isn't any quota applied from my side. Counselling was in offline mode where documents are verified in the college premise itself. Hostel applications were based on the rank and distance of residence from college as there are limited seats in hostels.

I choose this course because I want to learn about modern agriculture practices and to combat the need of the ever increasing population in India. There is about 1 teacher to every 10 students and are highly qualified ( doctorate and post doctorate as well as agricultural scientists ) and most of them teach interactively and most importantly with chalk and board method also accompanied with the digital classes. Exams regularly took place almost every 3 months the midterm examinations and at last semester examinations. Questions asked from the syllabus covered and with thorough study it is smooth to pass the examinations and securing good marks.

There are various internships provided by the placement team but mostly it is certificate based during undergraduate programme, some are paid too (5k-10k pm in general). With roles like data collection field visits and analysis kind of thing.

Last Semester i.e 8th semester students are allowed to participate in placements. The various companies related to agriculture and food sector visit regularly viz PepsiCo, Bayer, Dayal, Patanjali, ajeet, Syngenta, jeevika, srlm etc The average package is 35k-50k per month and the highest is up to 10-15lakhs p.a Almost every student taking part in placement get placed (as most prefer higher studies). I plan to opt for higher studies.

The fee for this course is very nominal almost 5000 per year including hostel accommodation. There are various scholarships available by the concerned bodies and college provides some kind of jobs in the institute itself with a fair amount of stipend

The annual fest of the institute is SRISHTI. there is no tech fest as such. The library is well contained with books, magazines, journals and research papers related to the course and allies. The classroom is well equipped with basic amenities like fans tube lights a podium with mic and sound system along with projector and a digital. board. The annual sports fest of the institute is SAHAS. And almost every sport is conducted and the institute has a sports ground itself providing all the resources. There are various regular programs were conducted enhancing and sharpening one's skills and developing overall personalities like dance, music and cultural events along with literary events all being conducted by various clubs viz literary club, dance club, music club, etc.

Hostel room was provided with a ceiling fan , bed ,table ,chair and almirah . The meal is good and healthy and proper care of hygiene is taken and is timely provided . Meal menu is changed regularly with different food at different days of the week and special meal at weekends. Hostel registration and application is done at the time of counselling itself and its allotment is done on the basis of merit once all the admission process is over as already mentioned total fee is 5000 per year so it is very affordable.
