Good college

Over all its a good college to study. I think it is still developing. And it will be among best nit's within some years.

I took joint engineering exam mains and i got around 100 marks. Though it was less score i got the college because of home state quota. I am studying electronics and communication.

It is good. Professors encourage students to do research. Since nit goa is not having its own campus there are some space problems. But still we are doing well.there are many students doing phd in nit goa. So because of the space problem we dont actually get enough opportunities.We dont have enough big labs. So this can be a factor for less progress in research area. But still we have good professors who are working hard and supporting students for research.

I m in first year. So i dont know much about the placement procedure. Intership opportunities etc. But many companies like simmons etc come to college for offering jobs and all.

Placements opportunities are good. We currently have three branches. Computer science, electronics and telecommunications, electrical and electronics. So placement were good.Computer science holds 100 % placement. And other branches electronics and communication, electrical and electronics holds 77% placement percentage.

We have annual technical function. That is technical in this we organised many events, games etc.We conduct many competitions also. We also celebrate every festival. Though it be of any state. Like onam, hollowin, dandiya of navratri, diwali celebration,etc.

Its feasible.Since it has national importance the fee structure is feasible.They give tuition fee off for scheduled caste and scheduled tribes students. The fee structure is around 70000 per semester. And the hostel fees and mess fees are separate. And for sc st students the tuition fee is exempted. They have 20000 fee.

It promotes scholarships which are given by central government and state government of goa. Since nit goa is a is national level institute it submits names of those which can avail the scholarship.

Speaking on gender ratios actually boys are more in number than girls.we have students from various regions of country. So its kind of diversity in culture language etc. But all celebrate share each others culture. Everyone celebrate every festival though it be of other states festival.

Hostel facilities are good. There is a time electricity. There are some issues of water supply. But still we can adjust with that. We have internet connections. In hostels the rooms are spacious. mess food is good. They prepare different dishes for students. Sometimes students dont like the food which is actually made for some specified state culture type.

Yeah. We have alumni network and senior interaction. Nit goa is small so everyone gets know every other. We conduct alumni meets.

We have one end sem exam, one mid sem exam, and two tests. The total result is based on all these four. So every month we have one exam. So its quite hectic. But we chill sometimes. Its a nice structure. Students stay in touch of studies. And they dint get over pressure in final end sem exam.

Actually since it is a national institute of technology all the professors are phd holders. So obviously they have a wide knowledge. This helps us very much. They guide us well. They promote students for better opportunities etc. They also conducts seminars and call different professors to give talks etc.
