Remarks

Lies in the heart of Chandigarh, with excellent Alumni, great exposure, and great clubs to be part of. The admission criteria change every year in terms of marks, but to be in the circuital branch you need to have a good NIT level score. The counseling day was a bit hectic since it's a government procedure and requires you to submit your proof, make sure you have each and every document and photocopies of them, and keep your original documents safe.

Course Curriculum Overview

If you are in the circuital branches mostly all companies are open up for you, so I opted for the electrical branch according to my score. The faculty teacher ratio is 1:60, but Ph.D. students are always available to help you up. Teachers are the best, they really try to explain you stuff along with various practical skills Exams were held 2x a semester, so for a semester of august- December, we will have a mid-term exams where we have 2 exam in a single day and are held in late September and we have our end terms in early December or late November.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 60120 per year

Internships Opportunities

the average stipend was 30000 PM. Projects are given extra care by faculty and are always there to help. Abroad internships are available. Not everyone gets placed for an internship, so a backup is good to have.

Placement Experience

5th semester for Internships and 7th semester for placements. Many companies visited. average package was 6 LPA. almost 70% are placed along with 10% going for government jobs and 10% opting for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee increases for the new students by 25%, there we many scholarships available. You get a Scholarship if you score maximum in the class. Due to the covid pandemic, applications were invited if students were unable to pay a fee. Education loans are accepted

Campus Life

PECFEST is held every year, which is college's cultural and technical fest 2Libraries with reading halls Excellent Sport facility Club for everyone, Music, dance, drama, literature, robotics, debating, art, photography, etc.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are generally not in good looking but are maintained very well excellent food. You have a choice to take a hostel or not. no time for boys and 10 pm in time for girls. cleaning facility available and washing area open. Common room for TV and extra activities.

Likes

Syllabus is good, it is very versatile and updated according to the industry standards
The University also has a good events and also a good night life
The infrastructure is very modern with unique outlets to eat in

Dislikes

There is a uniform system which is very bad according to university
Very strict rules regarding in and out of the University
The outlets in university are quite expensive

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read

PEC is great choice

Pec has amazing fest named PECFEST it is one of the biggest fest of north india many singers come many Competition are organized by student of pec
college life is amazing here and better than all of nits in near region
placements are very good for these colleg even this year ee branch have better placements in pec than in nit kkr

Dislikes

the main problem is the students of Chandigarh there is huge rank difference they get this college at lower ranks so peer group is not good sometimes
also another problem is the 50 percent students are from chandigarh they up down from there home daily if you are from chd u will not get hostels

Placement Experience:

placements from rti report placement percentage is over 75 + and in ee its 74 percent cse 93 and ece 84 percent avg for cse is 18 lakhs and ece is 16 lakhs ee its 14 lakh and other branches have 8 10 lakh avg but the placemnt percentage in mechncial is 70 percent other branches like civil production have a little less percentage of placements but they have opportunities in college

Special labs for the Super60 students only
Special faculty offered to the super60 batch
DCA interaction classes every week for placement drills

Dislikes

Too much interference in students personal life
Discrimination in fee stucture, uniques and Super60 and non super60(either in terms of facilities or branding) batch
Too much pressure, harrasment, irrelevent burden, abusive behavior of the management and some of the faculty members. Calls, parents for every small thing to make them worried, this is bad specially for the students living far away from their house..

Placement Experience:

As a Btech student, we get elegible in 7th sem for the placement drives virtuos, bebo, Antire are such companies that visits our campus highest package: 800000 LPA lowest: 1,50000 LPA 90% students get placed I would love to go into corporate life after degree

Life at Panjab University

Likes

Student who are eager for there startup gets better chance
Campus life is best students get chance to interact with different departments students
Students politics is major highlight cause it helps one to understand there voting right and value of one vote

Dislikes

Can be seprate hostel for each departments
There is no such bad thing that I came across then monkeys in University campus near hostels
No shop is open in University after 9 pm

Placement Experience:

In our college students need to have 6CGPA to still in campus placements and our college have a Club that overseas all the placement oppertunityies and the placement starts from 7th semester onwards when students starts there seventy semester the company's starts visiting campus for placement and internship opportunity as well

Most of the things like stuC(students centre)

Yes,very good college placements are available in our college.Students of 8 semester that is 4th year students are eligible for campus placement Companies such as TCS,wipro,amex,gemini solutions and etc many more companies are there for placement 60-80% students got placed in the companies with an average package of 8 lakhs and with a highest package of 35 lakhs Iam oriented towards govt jobs and in future if I will be interested in coding sector I will do preparation for off campus and specifically for Rubrik

Good facilities, really teaches student and give individual attention in class too
Good infrastructure , as it was just built in 2021, the infrastructure is top notch and no complaints about it.
Papers are being checked anonymously, one’s paper can be checked by any teacher in any campus, so no chance of partiality

Dislikes

80% strict attendance criteria other they would not allow to sit in exam
Passing criteria is 40% and grading system is also bery difficult, two D grade is 1 F and more than 2F could lead to year repeat year, not even semster
Alot of assigments, really hectic at times

Placement Experience:

We have avergae package of 12 lpa and 57lpa highest, i am not aware of how mqny placed. As such i have plan to get placed but if things didnt go out as planed then mba or mtech maybe. Our campus just opened recently so there is no much information but our placements are central that means, companies visting mumbai have to visit us too, and u can refer mumbai campus placement for our campus because its counted on central level and not varries campus to campus

I chose this college over other colleges because of the placements. No matter how outdated their curriculum is but this college gives good placements. At my rank this was the best college which was giving an average of package of 12LPA from Production and Industrial Engg. I also wanted to live in a good city so I chose this college. If we talk about the admission process of this college, you have to first appear in JEE Mains. Then you have to apply in JOSAA Counselling. There are 6 rounds in JOSAA in which seat is alloted to the students who have got better ranks. Imo if you are a general category student then you have to score above 96 percentile to get in Production of PEC. If you dont get any seat in JOSAA then there is CSAB also.
