Remarks
Admissions took place through josa counseling which has many other colleges of Chandigarh as well. It's based on JEE mains ranking. I also applied for other NITs as well. PEC was the best option that I got and it was a wonderful decision.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in cars that's why I chose Mechanical Engineering. The faculty is well qualified but the teaching method remains traditional and many a time, boring. Term exams are quite difficult and their overall standard depends on the faculty.
Internships Opportunities
Quite a few Internship opportunities are provided by the placement team. The rest of the people have to find internships on their on as it is mandatory to do internships for the 6th semester. There are 20 credits assigned to that semester, ie, directly to the internships.
Placement Experience
The placements are good. And a lot of profiles are available for students to apply. Most of the students end up getting placed in good companies and good salary packages. The highest salary package is around 40lakhs offered by Microsoft.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are various scholarships available for students to avail. There is also some tuition fee relaxation based on government policies. There is scholarship on a jee mains merit base. There is a scholarship for the class topper. Apart from this, alumni also provide students with scholarship options.
Campus Life
Life at PEC is full of wonders and joy. PECFEST is the annual college fest. The library is really good and provides a great environment for studying. There are lots of clubs and societies to opt from. So you get a lot of exposure.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is fine, not on the luxurious side but okayish for students. Food quality varies from hostel to hostel. Hostels are located on the campus itself. So, it's quite convenient to go and attend classes and visit the market as well.
