JEE (MAINS), Score-169 Rank-24137 I had an early interest in Aerospace Engineering and I got admission in PEC with Aerospace, I am pretty much satisfied with it.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course structure seems more of Application oriented rather than Research oriented. It seems good. But if you want to go in research field then there are many opportunities for all aerospace students to go for research. Because of location you can attend many seminars which are conducted in Chandigarh occasionally.

Internships Opportunities

I don't know much about stipend or overall experience. But college does provide internship. And most probably in 6th semester but I don't know much about internships.

Placement Experience

4

For Aerospace there is not much placement offers. Only 3 out of 25 students were placed last year. The reason behind this is majority of students pursued for higher studies. And only 5 applied for placements out of which 3 were placed. Companies in which they were placed were ZS associates, JP Morgan.

College Events

4.5

The largest fest after that of IITD is PECFEST which was conducted this year on 8-10 October. It had 3 days of celebration as it was PEC's 95th year. Participation in it is said to be of nearlu 15-20K which i'm not sure if but as I experienced PECFEST' 16 I would say that it could be as stated above.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As even fees of IITs also jumped last year , fees of every engineering seem to be expensive but I would say comparing with other good colleges fees of PEC is feasible. Semester fees for 1st sem is 69250 and for second sem is 55250. Which goes on decreasing every next sem.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships for Economically Weaker section, for minority, SC and ST students is provided by college. College also provide Merit based scholarship.

Exam Structure

Exams were conducted on consecutive days (end term) Whereas mid terms were conducted 2 on each day. So yes exam days were hectic. But other days were chilled out as in 1st sem as i remember we had only 22 hours/week which i would say were so chilled out.

Admission

Admission process was nicely organised. I got admission in Spot Round on 8th of August whereas orientation was on 31 July, so i missed orientation but seniors were very helpful to let me know college properly. Administration was also good. And there was 1 good point that after each round of Counselling you can change choices that you filled.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty is not upto the mark but atlast it is OK. As stated by many seniors, Faculty is not as expected. But when u personally met a professor to clear some numerical doubts I got to know they are not as bad as seniors told us. So all in all they are OK but at last it depends upon you that you study properly or not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read

Placement do occur in the college. It's average package is around 7.5, lakh. Since I am the first year right now, I don't have data to support the placement record, but some of my seniors of fourth year are getting placed.
