Applied for PGDM through CAT and XAT. Admission in XLRI is through XAT followed by GD/PI session. XAT include sections on Maths, English, Logical Reasoning and GK. Post the XAT results shortlist is out for GD PI. Based on the combined score of XAT and GDPI, an offer is made to the students.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested to get into a core business role and hence took PGDM. The student: faculty ratio is approx 1:15. Most of the faculties are PhD and teaching methodology includes case studies, textbooks and live projects. Everything in the college was as per schedule with no deviation. The exams are of moderate difficulty.
Internships Opportunities
Summer internship happens after term-3. The process starts in term and is completed in 2 days. The average monthly stipend is around 75k. Most of the projects are on market research, minor consulting and improvement tasks.
Placement Experience
2 stage process: summer internship and final placements. The summer internship happens in term 2 and the final placement happens in term 5-6. Average Salary 25 LPA. This includes laterals and final placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no fixed fee hike policy but the fees are in parity with other Tier-1 MBA colleges. Few scholarships are available from the corporates as well. Otherwise, Banks are open to offering study loans to the candidates. One of the best job roles is offered both for summer internships and final placements. Lateral placements for experienced candidates are also offered.
Campus Life
Everyone stays on campus as a small family. Interaction with the faculty is really good. The fest includes an ensemble, Valhalla for internal and external participants. The library is good with a wide range of books and journals available
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are good. In fact, a new hostel is in place now. The basic facilities are available like bed, table etc. In-campus residence is mandatory and everything is in the total fees. The food is good.
