Remarks
I appeared for VITEEE and secured a rank of 9840, this made me eligible for Rs 50K scholarship annually. In the counselling process for this rank, the seats were available for my branch. In category 1 of counselling, this branch was available for students who have scored at least 15k rank in VITEEE. I was able to secure the seats on day 1 of counselling.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because a new specialization Internet of things and sensors in ECE was introduced. Seeing the demand for IoT Engineers in the market I chose this course. The faculty to student ratio was 1:70 and all the faculty who took this course were doctorate holders. The term exams were held twice every year, once every semester and if a person who is consistent with the class and following faculty guidance can excel in the exam.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are available for meritorious students, people with pre-placement offers get the opportunity to do an internship with their firm. I had undergone my internship at West Pharmaceuticals where I was a part of a team that developed a full-stack application to manage inventory used for assets.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements in their penultimate semester for placements. Companies like Microsoft, Google, West Pharmaceutical visit the campus. VIT claims to place 100% of its students with an average package of Rs 6.7LPA. I wish to pursue my masters in the relevant field in a couple of years.
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarship was offered to the top 20K rank holders in VIT. The topper of respective boards and 1st ranker of VITEEE get 100% scholarship. Based on VITEEE Ranks within 20k, the scholarship amount varies from 25k-50k per year throughout the course. For the four years, the fee hike was not observed by me, but recently during covid, there has been a hike for senior students. Financial assistance such as loans from nationalized banks, this option is also available in the main office of the campus. VIT has a placement office that helps students to get jobs/internships from campus.
Campus Life
VIT has two fests, a cultural fest namely Riviera held in February of every year and a technical fest namely Gravitas conducted in September of every year. The library in VIT is quite well maintained and updated with the latest developments. It also has a digital library that has access to thousands of journals/magazines and research papers. Theory classrooms are normal, the digital classrooms have good amenities furnished with state-of-the-art facilities. VIT has 100+ clubs and chapters for students participation.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are decent, they are available as a single sharing room spanning to 8 sharing beds in a room. students have the option of choosing the room through the room counselling process just like the admission process, here the preference is given to students with good grades. Meals are prepared fresh and outsourced to caterers. The hostel is situated inside the campus.
