Entrance Preview

Dr. MGR Educational and Research college is quite average while comparing to other engineering colleges in India. The best part of this college is that, it is located with Chennai city. I will rank it 2nd after SRM.

Internships Opportunities

Syllabus content is quite good but, but no internship flexibility during final year is a concern.

Placement Experience

Placement wise this college is average, 3-4 companies visit here and mostly for CS background. Criteria for placement is 60% throughout which is a concern among so huge set of students(around 360 in CS only).

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is okey comparing to other private colleges in Chennai, and comparing to other private universities in Chennai.

Hostel Facilities

Problem with hostel is that there is no ""On-Campus hostel"" (as of now it has very small campus) and food quality is not good there, though at lunch you will find best food at mess. To say it has huge library, but it gets closed at 8:00pm and due to no on-campus hostel, it of no use.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

I am from Computer Science background so I would say it has good faculty strength there but quality of faculty is not up to the mark. There is no any foreign faculty here and lots of attitude among faculties for no reason why.

A Brief Overview of SKCET as an Atmosphere

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placement from the third semester. Many students have obtained good packages in companies like Bosch, Infosys, etc. Many companies visit the college, and a number of offers are made. My course has a 86% placement record, which is quite good. I plan to go for placements but will only accept the package if its above 10 lpa. Else, I plan on going for higher studies.
