Remarks

From the beginning, I had applied for the same college as my rank was within the range of the ranks allowed in this college. The enrolling process was smooth and clear, since I had got admitted through KCET.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course because of the high job opportunities. We had many staff members who used to teach various subjects too. The ISE department had around 30 teachers. As per the qualifications of the teachers, they had to hold at least two degrees in bachelors and masters. But it was also mandatory for them to be trying for their Ph.D. The exams used to be once in a month. They were called internals and these marks were considered in our semester total. So per semester, we had three internals. Out of the three, the best of two would be chosen. The exams used to be medium to tough and answers were discussed after every exam.

Placement Experience

5

In my batch, we had almost 80% placements. And I don't have any plan of studying further since I have to support my family and earn money. I was placed in the company with the highest package of our college. And according to my experience, the placement activities were very fair and good. Tough training were given for each round of placement activity which helped a lot during the real interviews.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee hike was not much. But whenever a new batch joined, they had a lot of hike in the fees as compared to the old students. There used to be scholarship programs for specific categories and reservations. But I could never win a scholarship by fair chance since I did not fall under any categories

Campus Life

4

We used to have two types of the fest, one for the students of the college called Sambhrama and the other for the students of other colleges called Technotsav. They were usually conducted in the even semesters, somewhere in the months of October or November. There was one common library that had abundant books for every course. Throughout the course of engineering, I never felt the need to own my own text book since they were easily available. In the classrooms we had smart projectors that were usually used for classes or seminars. In terms of sports, there used to be selection rounds for sports teams and only the chosen ones could play in the college teams. We had two huge grounds that could be used by anyone apart from the sports dept at any time. We also had internal playing courts for badminton, table tennis, carrom etc. There used to be women's club in the college that was a special club only for all the girls in the college.

Hostel Facilities

5

Our hostel was away from the college and we had to go by the dedicated bus facility. The bus did not have any fees. The rooms were spacious and good and regularly maintained. There used to be three meals per day with snacks and tea/coffee. The menu used to be decided by the fourth-year students and the wardens collaboratively. Again, the hostel was quite affordable and very comfortable. Beautiful environment with lot of greeneries and animal-friendly environment. The registration was not a very difficult process and quite easy to go about.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
