Entrance Preview

I got admission through counselling of Anna university for diploma candidates since I had around 85% in academics, I landed into government quota under counselling where I had chosen this college. Admission is pretty candid where i had to submit the counselling forms and a seat was allocated for the course which i have chosen.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course structure was provided to me after the admission where it has described various technical papers which the course comprises of over 3 year period for all semester and the project work which was mandatory in the final semester and also various elective papers we can choose over the course. I also got a pamphlet which explained the infrastructure of the college and also about campus recruitment.

Internships Opportunities

We had internship arranged form following companies like HCL, CSC, TCS and Sutherland, Ascendas and it was not much of campus recruitment, we had during our year like in 2012-2013 since the IT industry were not doing great where the companies were worsely affected by recession period. General stipend was in the range of 8000 to 12000 for candidates who got the opportunity to work as interns

Placement Experience

3

We had around 8 to 10 companies visited our campus like HCL, CSC, TCS and Sutherland, Ascendas, CTS, CSS corp, Infosys but the campus placement were dull during my graduation in the year 2012-2013 where only 20% of the candidates had gotten placements out of graduated candidates and the pay range were 25000 to 35000 max.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio is more like 60% to 40%, respectively boys and girls were we had students from diverse culture and ethnic groups so the it was cross cultural environment which helps to learn about various parts of country. We had an excellent sports facility and sports gears where we are provided with grounds for cricket, volley ball, basket ball, football, shuttle court, tennis court, table tennis, chess, and Carrom board as well.

Exam Structure

Apart from Anna university board exams per semester we used to have 3 cycle test's in every six months and it was not so hard to run through those since we had ample space and time between them also there would be an interim practical session for preparation. The labs were scheduled in a way were the core technical papers of the semester would be lined up in alternate days of the week.

Admission

Anna university of Chennai has arranged counselling for candidates who have completed diploma courses where the candidates would be given slot according to their percentage in final year. The candidates will get the call letter for counselling where they can choose their college and course depend on the availability since the counselling would be happening in stages.

Faculty

3.5

Most of the professor's who handled the technical courses were Phd holders in their domain where they had sound knowledge and exposure to the latest trends and technologies. We used to have symposium and other cross cultural tech seminars where other professional from industry will give training to internal faculty about technical innovation on the course material which in turn helps the students in their curriculum.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.
