Remarks

This is a normal Degree college under West Bengal State University so for taking admission you have to pass 12th and then filled the form online available on the college website. if you want to take Hons you should at least get 65% and above on the respective subject. I have no quota. The minimum age is 17 but there is no upper limit for completion of BSc. The admission process was moderate after applying through their form of admission you have to pay a charge of admission then they produce lit of candidates who are selected in the 1st round.

I have Mathematics Hons and I think this college maintains the curriculum properly and prepares us for MSc and JAM Exam. The faculty-student ratio was good. Faculties are very much highly qualified they take classes on regular basis. This college maintains its rules properly. There was one final exam every year and an internal exam in the mid of the year. exam is tough because your site will be in another college

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is very nominal because it is a Govt college but they provide various financial assistance to the students. All types of scholarships like SVMC are available for the students. Kanyashree was there. TFW facility was there. It is a general college so no placement assistance is provided by the college like other general colleges.

Campus Life

Campus life was good, no political groups disturb students, the campus is very green and clean. Various festivals and cultural programs are arranged by the college authority like Newcomers welcome program, annual fest, Saraswati puja, teachers day. Classrooms are good as compared to other general old colleges but no special facility like audiovisual teaching method was not there. Anual sport is arranged by the authority.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

B.Sc Computer Science Faculty: Student ratio is = 4:23 may vary a bit Faculty are well Qualified & Teaching method is okay good, but not to the mark like very good or excellent. College is really close to railway station (2.2 km from Bidhannagar Junction), Low cost of fees, Good academics, Spacious, Green, Quiet environment ideal for studying.
