Remarks
I applied for BITS, SRM, VIT So for BITS: There was an examination through which they create merit and we get the admission. The examination is easier than JEE mains but it's too lengthy. It also contains reasoning and English. The exam is of 150 questions and 3 hours are given and the mode is online near your cities. So for VIT:during this covid conditon they gave the admissions on the basis of JEE and board marks. But in normal conditions, there is exam called VITEEE.For mechanical in VIT there are many phases you can get admissions if you have around 50,000 rank you can get admission in 3rd phase The admission process consists off the merit then the courses wishlist for which yo need to pay 5000 and then comes the admission if you get selected you need to pay feees within 4-5 days for admission. So for SRM: In this covid condition, they gave the rank based on board marks.
Course Curriculum Overview
So mechanical is the field which will never go off from fashion but the conditions are you need to be good in that. It should not be such that you were not getting CSE you select mechanically. So In VIT, there is a unique thing of FFCS which means you can select the faculty and timings you want to study. And the ratio of professor to the student is 1:40 which is very good when talking about a college with NIRF ranking 14th in engineering. So in VIT, there is a teacher who did a job in DRDO and ISRO and now is teaching in VIT.Every teacher hasana M.Tech. degree from some IIT's.So there's no problem with the quality of teaching. In VIT there are exams very frequently you give 2 continuously assessment test(CAT) and 1 FAT and 3 quizzes all of these contains marks. The difficulty level is quite high as they wanted to maintain the standard of the students that passout.
Internships Opportunities
So there are various internship you can do and the roles areas follows specifically for mechanical: (1)You need to do modelling. (2)You need to be an industry manager. (3)Find out the ways of increasing production. Industries like Ashok Leyaleyland, VITBI and many others give you a call.
Placement Experience
From 3rd year students start getting placements. Mahindra, Ashok Leyland and many more are the companies visit the campus and they give very good packages around 20 lakhs to student this data is for mechanical engineering. In VIT you will get picked as there are mass recruiters that pick you up. So It's better to do M.Tech. if you are not getting placed in your dream company. VIT provides around 80-90% of placements rest of the students join their own family business and the rest go to do their masters. My plan after getting a degree is to do a master so as to get more salary.
Fees and Financial Aid
SO in VIT there are different phases like 1,2,3,4,5 fees for them are different and there are two types of courses for which the fees would be different. So in mechanical its type B course for that the fees of phases 1,2,3,4,5 are higher than phases A course. fees for phase 1 is 200000 for phase 2 it is 300000 for phase 3 it is 350000 and for phase 4 it's 400000 and for phase 5 it is 500000 the fees keeps changing from year to year this was yearly and for the 2020 year. There is a scheme in which if your family earns less than 600000 you get that scholarship in the 2nd year. The average package here is 5-6 lakhs and the highest package for mechanical goes for 22 lakhs and that for CSE is around 48-50 lakhs. Many companies like Ashok Leyland, Mahindra comes to the campus for mechanical. Internships keep coming in VIT you get mail on regular basis.

Hostel Facilities
For the first years, there is 3,4,6 bedded room provided for students and in first 3 months, they are not allowed to go out of the campus. In the room, you get a bad and an Almira and it can be AC or non AC based on your preference. So the menu is quite rich they provide you with quality food. There are 3 options you get that is veg, Non Veg and Special mess. In the special mess, you get both veg and non veg. Veg has the lowest price than non veg and highest in Special mess. quality is very good and you get different things throughout the week.
