Entrance Preview

JEE MAIN(score-139), I opted for this particular college because i wanted to live in another state than mine at the very first place and also the institution is ranked among the top NITs. I chose the course i am in because it interested me and i had some projects done in developing materials and knew the vast scope.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Institute's website does not show the kind of research that is going on in the Institute. So you need to go to Professors profile to check what he has been working on and talk to them directly to get some assistance in working in your area of interest. The course is structured in a manner that will make you capable of knowing the history as well the present scenario and what the industries need these days.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, Companies visit campus to provide internships to students particularly to 3rd years and the stipend vary from 50000 INR to 0 INR. But almost all companies provide some stipend and Pre Placement offers are common in this regard depending upon your performance during the internship.

Placement Experience

4

Placement scenario in the campus is nice as almost as many as 45/50 gets placed with good average package of 5 LPA. Some of the Companies visiting the campus are Wipro, Jindal, Reliance, Vedanta, Career avenue, T.I.M.E ,FIIT JEE, Imery Caldry etc. The highest package bagged this year is around 10 LPA from the department.

College Events

4.5

We have one Tech fest and one Spring fest celebrated in our Institution where you have numerous events to participate and win exclusive prizes and cash. The tech fest called Technozion is the second largest tech fest of South India. Apart from this 2 the institution holds other small events like Cultural events, DJ nights, Open air by music club, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The tuition fee doubled during our time in 2014 and has increased further for our juniors which makes it a bit expensive but affordable in many aspects. We need to pay INR 35500 for one semester plus mess and hostel due. The mess and hostel fee are feasible though.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers scholarship for the top 3% from each branch i.e. their tuition fee is reimbursed and also they help student get education loan .

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not that much strong though we get all the information from our seniors, interaction with seniors is far below average for many students. The Lakshya Foundation in our college help poor students with tuition fee and abroad internships through alumni network.

Exam Structure

We have 4 written exams in one semester which include 2 minors of 10 marks, one mid of 30 and one end exam of 50. At the near end of semester it is a bit hectic as we have our lab exams, quiz, viva and end exam in the very next week. The question pattern is tough and you have to use your brain to clear all the exam.

Admission

The counselling was one heck of process and our life hung in the bargain at the time.I missed my tentative dates to report and next what i heard was "Beta you go for spot round, nothing can happen now." So i filled the counselling form again which was pretty much the same and I got the one wanted. Admission process was simple and documents to be carried were clearly listed, so it didn't cause any problem.I was smooth.

Faculty

2.5

Some faculties in the department are very dedicated and motivated to teach and guide you and some just talk about the stars because thats what they know. Overall the faculty standards according to me is poor for my department as they will tell you to do this and that but when you reach out to them to help you, instead to asking you about your interest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
