Remarks

I wanted to get into top 3 engineering college in maharashtra via mhtcet as my JEE mains didn't fetch me seat in top 7 Nits . So while filling form of CAP I filled all branch of government college such as COEP , VJTI, SPCE because of their reputation and legacy of many decades. Then I got SPCE civil in 2 nd round of CAP . The reason I choose SPCE over new Nits was its strategic location in Mumbai , its incredible reputation of more than 5 decades , Its fees was way much less than that of new nits ( fees of 4 yrs at spce is 2.8 lakh and of nits was nearly 8 lakh )

Course Curriculum Overview

5

SPCE being autonomous has it's own unique curriculum which is some what similar to IITB curriculum. All professors are have mostly done their graduation from iits and top nits and have Also done mtech and PhD. Student to faculty ratio is 1:10 . Exams are conducted timely as per schedule and passing exams is relatively difficult as the papers are set by teachers and not Mumbai university. The passing rate of first year civil of last year's batch was 40% for all subjects clear percentage. So yeah exams are tough to clear .

Placement Experience

4

Campus placement is awesome and one of the best in country after IITs and top nits for core branches as we have only core branches. Only the best companies are allowed in campus placement for core branches. Average placement is 5-6 LPA and highest salary of 2020 was 21 LPA for civil engineering. And many students opt for higher studies in top colleges in USA, Germany and all around globe . Some prefer government job and prepare for government services. In 2021 3 people from my college got an AIR under 500 in UPSC. And a few went to ivy league college like Wharton, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon university, etc .

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being government aided college of Mumbai fees is very low. Fees for general category is 3.2 lakh OBC is nearly 2.8 lakh for whole course and for sc&st is 1.6 lakh nearly . Average placement of college is 5-6 lakh and highest package is 21 lakh for civil (2020). There are many scholarships for students provided from central as well as state government .

Campus Life

4

Campus of SPCE is the best campus in Mumbai after IITB and has SPJIMR and SPIT sharing its campus over 70 acres land . We have a canteen, a library which has nearly 1.5 lakh books in it (one of the best college library in India) which has variety of books in it of all genres. There is one beautiful lake called bhavans lake and many grounds to play various sports. There is a auditorium in college for various plays and dramas for drama club and social events. There are many clubs like speakers club, photography club , drama club, racing club, etc.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel aren't that well and spacious as there is always lack of commodity in Mumbai. There is hostel for 15 people in each branch of 60 people . But there are many PG rooms near campus in andheri and even 2BHK and 1BHk flats around college for accommodation.

Admission

Admissions are done through mhtcet and boards Mark's. It's hard to crack entrance exams and get into top 3 college as there are annually 2 lakh mhtcet aspirants . So you have to have minimum 98 percentile to get into your course of your choice and a good college.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are limited in the college. A few companies visit during the final year, and students usually becomes eligible fromo the last semester. The packages offered are generally modest, mostly for entry-level roles. Only a small percentage of students get placed thorugh campus drives, while many prefer to apply off-campus for better opportunities. The college provides basic placement support such as info about job openings and guidance, but students need to build their own skills and prepare independently. After completing the degree, students prefer to pursue higher studied, professional courses, or entry-level IT jobs.

Focusing on student's attendence rather than focusing on students concepts. College is not focusing in development of students only paperwork is done. No conceptul teaching nor practical. By doing this stuff we can get a btech degree but not the knowledge a btech student should have.
