Remarks
I have applied for the BHU BA Hons course in 2019 to take admission to the social science faculty. The Entrance exam has four sections GS, reasoning, math and Hindi, I got AIR 64 in the general category and called for counselling in the first round, on counselling day they check just your documents as your TC, CC migration 12th, and 10th certificates in taking just 5 to 10 minute. On the counselling day, you can choose your subject preference. then after some time if you are eligible the hostel merit list comes. counselling of FSS students conducted on NEW CHC building there all the faculty stop present. they are very cooperative but at the hall, the only applicants can be allowed to enter not your parents or anyone else not allowed. In my counselling there was prof. N K Mishra sir he just ask for my documents and then just saw them and says ok everything is fine. after that, I leave the counselling hall and come out. the whole counselling takes 15/20 days in a single day 100 students around are called to report for counselling.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have chosen the FSS faculty for BA Hons Social science two to get my desired subject combination Economics, Statistics and Mathematics because this is the only subject combination which linked with both Arts and as well as science faculty and after PG course it provides Campus placements. In my year there were around 450 admissions on the main campus in which there were only 35 girls enrolled. All the faculty are so much qualified they are very cooperative with students. We have semester exams every 6 months exams are very easy after solving the previous 5 year exam paper you can easily get 8 CGPA.
Internships Opportunities
There are very few or negligible internships in my faculty. for internships, you can join another course in other department but the student of the economics department get some internships for the local area by faculty.
Placement Experience
IN FSS there is no placement at UG level but there is very good placement in PG courses in subjects like Statistics and Economics package around 8 to 15 lakh. In the state department in MA / MSC course, around 40% of students get placed as data analysts and market researchers.
Fees and Financial Aid
Because BHU is a central government university, the fees in my course are very low than any other college, Fees for the BA Hons course is just 3000 for the first year than 1500 for the next 2 years. There is no college scholarship programme except the government.
Campus Life
Yes, there is an annual fest in every faculty and after a university fest called spandan, in FSS there is an annual fest called abhicalpan in which any student who belongs to the faculty of social science can participate. There are very big sports grounds for arts faculty Birla ground allotted. In my faculty, there are many social groups and clubs as Promothians, darz a sukhan etc.
Hostel Facilities
In my faculty there are 4 hostels moona dev, AND, Rajaram and brijnath. For BA students moona Devi and AND allotted the hostel are very good. BHU provide the best accommodation for their student, the mess charge is 45rs for a normal diet 70 rs for a special diet.
