The college similar to other public institutes accepts students solely based on their ranks in the engineering entrance exams i.e. jee mains and wbjee. Being one of the more recently established institutes it isn't as reputed or sought after as some others. It still is 1 of the only 8 public institutes in the state, nonetheless. So, most students here have availed the seats through the wbjee exams, which is the easier less competitive of the entrance exams. There's also, a steady flow of lateral entry students into the 2nd year of respective courses. Being, a public institute the application dates are strictly in accordance with the wbjee counseling timelines. As and when mentioned on the website. I had my course preferences set before and wanted to pursue them for my ambition and the wide scope of job opportunities it holds. Student: faculty is well balanced and functions smoothly. Authorities are helpful and responsive. All professors hold a Ph.D. degree and are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their respective fields. Teaching methods are the standard Indian ones but well adapted to the pandemic situation. Exams are taken in accordance with the MAKAUT board dates under which the college functions. Unit tests are regular and well managed. Considerably easy to pass. Exceptionally difficult to score really well.

Placement starts in the 7th semester.TCS, Wipro, mi, Indian and Eastern railways among others. Highest package: 14lpa. Average:5 lpa. there are 20, Pursuing master's in my course or opting for a job whilst preparing for civil services.

Most affordable fees. Similar to every public institute there is. Numerous scholarships and other aids were provided and accepted. I am currently available, the SVCM scholarship by the West Bengal state government. My acquaintance and seniors to avail the same and others. The annual fest of the college is Esperanza which happens anytime between March and April. Along with a techest that happens right after the Durga puja break and anytime before the Diwali holidays. Classrooms and labs are well equipped and perfectly functional, have a football field, tennis court, and open fields alongside a gym among other indoor cca activities amenities. The college has a number of groups and clubs for students to choose from. Ranging from art and photography clubs to public speaking clubs and drama and a lot more.
