Remarks

One of my friend did engineering from that college and he was doing well so i also thought to give it a try. And it was a very good decision back then. Now its way better and the campus placements are good too.

Course Curriculum Overview

Overall it was a very good experience studying in Chitkara. The curriculum was great and I also had industrial exposure after each semester. The faculty was also very good. Even two three teachers from our college also had books written for Tata magrahill publications.

Internships Opportunities

I was placed in infosys direct after my college so i have done the internship at infosys mysore.

Placement Experience

Many companies visited but most of the companies were IT companies so maximum placements were done in those companies. Infosys, accenture, wipro, hcl, honda many companies visited.

College Events

It was a hell of a experience. The memories are still green in my mind. Technically the staff was sound. Every semester we had cultural events.And i mostly done management activities in these festivals.

Campus Life

The campus had a very big sport facility which included. Gym, pool, snooker, badminton, cricket, football and almost every game. WiFi facility is available 24*7 and the labs are well equipped with everything.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are well equipped eith everything. Wifi is available even tt tables, carrom boards and small small games are there. The rooms are big enough and the wardens are also very cooperative. So overall it was perfect.

Good College with Decent Fees

Likes

Air Conditioned Classrooms and good wifi
There are many technical and social clubs like IEEE and IETE
Fests and Campus life are good. Many companies visit the campus for placements

Dislikes

75% attendence is mandatory to be eligible for final exams
Strict Dress Code and hostel restrictions are there in the campus
Only 2 food courts are there in the whole campus and very crowdy

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is industry oriented.I choose this course as I liked working with Hardware. The curriculum prepares for real world applications and Hands-On Project The frequency and exams are easy to moderate level.

PEC - History and optimism

Likes

The campus is over 100 years old and has strong alumini network.
Placements are good as per my rank in JEE
Peer group is good and there are diversed people all around

Dislikes

Infrastructure is really old; but then again legacy comes at a cost.
Campus is smaller as compared to NITs and IITs ; so is the funding
Its still not an institute of national importance. Has no nation wide recognition

Placement Experience:

Since the first batch of VLSI is yet to be placed I would take example of ECE for reference. Out of 110 students which sat for placements , 91 got placed , median of 13 lakh with avergae of 16 lakh and 61 lakh highest on campus. These are of 24-25 and this year placements are better as even apple visited us after an hiatus of 3 years. In core electronics , Samsung Rnd , TATA electronics , Cadence , Micron etc visited for tech , UKG , PhonePay , Oracle , Accenture etc vist in consulting and finance , Mckinsey , JP Morgan , GoldmanSachs , AmericanExpress visit. After my btech I plan to do a job.

Chitkara University - Everything You wanna know about

Likes

Syllabus is good, it is very versatile and updated according to the industry standards
The University also has a good events and also a good night life
The infrastructure is very modern with unique outlets to eat in

Dislikes

There is a uniform system which is very bad according to university
Very strict rules regarding in and out of the University
The outlets in university are quite expensive

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read

Likes

Good facilities, really teaches student and give individual attention in class too
Good infrastructure , as it was just built in 2021, the infrastructure is top notch and no complaints about it.
Papers are being checked anonymously, one’s paper can be checked by any teacher in any campus, so no chance of partiality

Dislikes

80% strict attendance criteria other they would not allow to sit in exam
Passing criteria is 40% and grading system is also bery difficult, two D grade is 1 F and more than 2F could lead to year repeat year, not even semster
Alot of assigments, really hectic at times

Placement Experience:

We have avergae package of 12 lpa and 57lpa highest, i am not aware of how mqny placed. As such i have plan to get placed but if things didnt go out as planed then mba or mtech maybe. Our campus just opened recently so there is no much information but our placements are central that means, companies visting mumbai have to visit us too, and u can refer mumbai campus placement for our campus because its counted on central level and not varries campus to campus

Remarks:

There are very limited art college in india and GCA Chandigarh is 1 of them. I opted for printmaking because I wanted to explore different mediums of expression. The college is well equipped with faculty experienced in their own particular mediums aswell as exploring new mediums. You will get the freedom to build you creativity.

everything is exellent about the college from faculty o infrastructure but yes i would like to say since i m one f the earliest batches of bsc nursing course so shifting of classes and teachers keep on going which is a little difficult to adjust.

Chitkara University - Everything You wanna know about

I chose Chitkara Univ over a few other pvt colleges in Punjab and nearby states because of its brand name, campus infra, and decent place stats. I had also applied to CU, LPU and a state engg college. I got confirm seat from CU and LPU, but I chose Chitkara as its tech branch and campus env felt more focused and less crowded. The labs and infra looked better during visit. I did not get into a top govt college as my rank was not strong enough in JEE. My prep was not at that level and cut off was high, so I could not make it there. That was mainly due to low score, not any other issue. The admit process at Chitkara is simple. For BTech, 10+2 with PCM and min 60 percent is needed. JEE score is accepted but not must for all seats. Many students take seat based on 12th marks and then do counseling at campus. There is direct apply on site, doc check, fee pay and seat confirm. Cut off is not very high like govt college. The overall admit exp was smooth and fast, with no major issue....Read More

Honest insider review - Chitkara University, Punjab

There was no such entrance exam sort of thing. they were just expecting a minimum percentage in the boards examination that too was very low to be honest. i didnt found such difficulty for the admission process as i had scored good marks in the 12th board. The application form was available on the official website of the university. The fees has been increased the last time i toook admission. It took 162,000 for 1 yr of college fees. No reservation benifits were availed by me being a GENERAL. Overall, the admission process was easy i found no diificulty. Although, they can improve the communication hrough the intermediater who accepted my form and took me thorugh the admission process. as it was online, i found some difficulty in communicating with themaslso havinng some misunderstandings with them.....Read More
