Remarks
There is an entrance test for admission and the cutoff goes around 260-290 out of 450. 12th pass students can apply for any graduation/diploma course available. There is the availability of almost all courses and students also come from abroad. Application forms are available online. I didn't avail reservation benefit as my marks were enough to secure my seat. Improvement is needed in the admission process. After counselling, they allot hostel in 15-20 days and in between, students are called frequently without regarding their home distance. I visited 3 times in 18 days during my counselling covering 800 km distance by train. So it is very problematic for students from other states. This needs some improvement.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for the course to know about financial market and the investment techniques. It is good course but it must have it's own related courses ahead like M. Com(FINANCIAL MARKET MANAGEMENT). There are 63 students out of around 450 students in my course. Professors are well experienced and teach well. The exam was conducted timely and it was really hard to score without preparation but in pendamic situation, we have open book tests which are even postponed many times.
Internships Opportunities
In Semester 5, we have to undergo an Internship project for 45 - 90 days on which we are free to opt our subject and company for internship. Lastly, we have to submit the report made by us. I had my internship in a bank where I learned to interact with people and some sort of management also.
Placement Experience
Due to the pandemic, we are out of campus for approx 2 years so I don't know much about it. But I have heard about it from our seniors that the placements are given in the final semester. But last year I didn't hear anything about it may be due to covid 19.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fee for B.Com (Hons) is 3000-4000 and for B.Com (Hons)Financial Market Management, it is 25000. Also for the paid seat, it is 25000. Hostel fees (3000-4000) does not include mess charge. The mess charge varies from 2600 to 3000 per month. Hostel seats are limited so the students who do not get hostel have to find rental rooms around campus which cost 3,000-10,000 per month. The local students of Uttar Pradesh fill out UP scholarship forms while others fill out national scholarships. But I didn't get any scholarship even after being eligible. Many of my friends belonging to other states also faced problems in filling out scholarship forms like me and the computer professor had no solution for it. So no one of us got any scholarship there. So in this regard, I found BHU has no better financial assistance.
Campus Life
There are a lot of fests conducted on the campus every month. Various faculties and departments conduct knowledge and entertainment fests where all the students have access with some charges. In case of library, each faculty and department have their own libraries. There is a central library and a cyber library which collectively have no lack of resources. Extracurricular activities also have a good space there. The campus is very beautiful and surrounded by full of greeneries The college also have students groups like FETC and ABVV. Collectively I can say the campus life is awesome.
Hostel Facilities
In the hostel, we are provided 24*7 electricity and water supply. We have gardens, a mess hall and common rooms for any preparation like Janmashtami or Saraswati pooja etc. In rooms, we are given a bed, table, chair and fan. We are also given high speed unlimited wifi in the hostel. The hostel is neat and clean and its fees and mess charges are affordable. Rented accommodations are also available at an affordable cost.
