A Complete Review of Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore

For 2020 bath, the admissions were based on 12th standard Board exam marks along with JEE/other competitive exam results. Then they published a rank list based on the cumulative results. The students were called for the Counselling process based on their ranks. The Counseling was held in different stages and the Students were asked to give their priority list of the courses they want to pursue. Students with higher ranks were allotted the courses of their choice and as the rank gets lower, the students were allotted the courses which were next to the first place in their list of choices. After the allotment, the students have to confirm the allotted seat within one week and pay the required fees.

I have been always interested in Computer Science and wanted to learn a lot in the same field. So, I decided to pursue this field. Regarding the faculty-student ratio, each faculty is allotted to 65 students for a subject usually. The evaluation of exams is based on the Relative Grading System which involves giving grades based on the performance of the students of the class and the deviation of marks.

There is a course for Soft skills which is compulsory for all students since the first semester. This course is to improve aptitude skills, how to prepare for an interview, how to develop various skills for a career. For placements, many famous companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Paypal, etc... visit the campus. More than 85% of students are being placed in different companies. Students get various offers like Super Dream offer and Dream offer for different salary packages. The highest package received in 2021 was 71 LPA from Microsoft and the lowest package is around 3 to 4 LPA. I have planned to look for a job after completing my B.tech degree.

The tuition fees are fixed for four years. There are two categories of courses. Courses like Civil Engineering, Textile Engineering etc are Category-A courses and the fees for the same is Rs.170000. The Category-B courses Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, and Communication Engineering.

The Campus is big with lots of free spaces for recreation. It has got the required shops and canteens to buy the needed things. The classroom is big and spacious. There are grounds for different sports like football and courts for basketball. Many clubs and chapters are available for students to join based on their area of interest.

There are different types of rooms being offered like single-bedded, two-bedded, three-bedded, four-bedded, and six-bedded. There are also different blocks of the hostel. The quality of the food is better compared to other colleges.
