Remarks

The atmosphere & location of the university is very good. The greenary of the campus always encourage us. The cleanliness of the university is also a very good example to the country.

Entrance Preview

There was a entrance exam organised by the university for shortlisted candidates. I had scored 60% marks in the entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

I had completed M.A. in English from this university. I have to read here Histort of English literature, Comperative literature, Modern english literature, Indian literature, Phonetics etc.

Internships Opportunities

As I am a general line students so we have not ample oppourtunities to attend much campaigns. However they insist us to appear in several competitive exams and also insist us to complete doctorate.

Placement Experience

A lot of our friends have been selected for Phd in this university. A huge number of students selected in different school & colleges also. Many of them joined in Administrative services.

College Events

We had celebrated many occassions here. Fist we have attend Nabin Baran then Annual Festival, Rabindra jayanti, Basanta Utsav, Independance day, Teacher's day.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very nominal. It's like 2,000 per year. They provided stipend to the backward class brilliant students also. Many of our friend had availed this facility.

Fees and Financial Aid

The university offered scholarship & loan to the brilliant back ward class students. Many of the students have took this oppourtunities.

Campus Life

The campus life was one of the best which I've ever spend. The hostel parties, wokshops, cultural societies evry this is mind blowing. We are just missing that campus life now.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel & mess is quite good. I was not residing in the hostel but I have visited several time to the hostels as many my friends were there. The hotel attendant was very good and very co opertive to the students. He took after every students of the hostel like his family members.

Alumni/Alumna

They are very much co operative and very decent. When ever we met with them they always tried to motivate us and insist for higher studies. If we face any issues they tried their best to short out them.

Exam Structure

This is a 2 years course. St year we have to attain part 1 exam & in 2 nd year Part 2 exam. We have to complete total 8 papers in 2 years. And at the last after adding 8 papers marks we were provided gradation.

Faculty

The faculties of our college is one of the best in India. They taught us in very easy language and always motivate & guide us. They give us the oppourtunities to write the answer in our own language. They love us very much.

A Balanced and Enriching Academic Experience

Likes

classes, concept clearing process, teachers with friendly behaviour

nothing much. Everything was good overall. If only the college could guide a bit about the placement program then it could be better.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is comprehensive and relevant covering literary theory, diverse texts and critical analysis. It prepares students for research and teaching. Exams are moderately challenging and well scheduled throughout the semester.

The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

Likes

Lush green and lovely campus, gives a perfect city vibes as well as greenery around
Huge social influence, and good knowledgable people around who are ready to discuss on any intellectual topics.
Expert faculty with proper emphasis on lecture quality, delivery, etc. Every faculty has a phD in their respective field.

Dislikes

Hectic lifestyle, there is a bit of pressure on syllabus completion
Exams conducted are a bit difficult with a higher frequency on conducting
Lack of Funding for campus development and deployment of proper infrastructure.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.

Likes

The behavior of the college staff is very good along with the teachers.
The campus is huge, along with a lot of amenities such as AC & smart classrooms, playgrounds, library, auditorium etc.
The college provides a great learning opportunity by internship opportunities at various companies.

Dislikes

There is a reason to worry as there are a lot of thieves around that area.
The nearby places of the college are not very safe, especially for women to travel at night.
The admissions criteria of this college are very tough. A student has to be highly qualified.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I had a keen interest in this subject. The faculty was very good, including the staff members and the academic teachers as well. The teachers were highly qualified and helped a lot in their studies. The exams were held timely under the supervision of the college staff members.

Placement Experience:

There were no campus placement. l have planned to be a teacher after completing this course. No company offers job in that campus. All the students have to struggle in their way for getting job.

Good College with Excellent teachers

Admission:

For pursuing Post graduation students never have to appear in any entrance examination. I passed my graduation from this college in the English department securing 65% of marks and hence choose this college for postgraduation as well.

Remarks:

The program of distance learning from University of Kalyani is the best Distance learning program at that I have ever come across. The distance program provides all of the facilities same as any regular program which makes it a wonderful option for all of the student who cannot afford to go to college regularly.

The untold voice of a Student.

Remarks:

I am both positive and negative marks started with positive the factories where very good well well qualified there is no ragging the environment is eco friendly people very helpful there is no senior junior bond everyone is equal. The negative were enormous starting with the infrastructure in some places there are new buildings halls which are not even maintained and that's the biggest problem facilities are not given to student in the hostel so much carelessness is there in the routine work people are very lazy to do their working time authority is very slow to do their workrecreational activities other than academics are very less a student didn't get the time for recreational and facilities were also not there I come modern infrastructure universities should be so we have to change this things to do the university prosper in the later year in the first and foremost thing is determination a that everyone should give efforts to make our university Pride and worthful.

Remarks:

Positive remarks are that its study process is very good, teachers are friendly and helpful... Seniors behave well to the students... College extra caricular activities are also pretty good.. Negetive remark is that it is far from urban areas.
