Remarks

Eligibility depends upon the cutoffs , at my time the cutoff was based on class 12th percentage, as I belong to general category I took admission in special drive (the cut off after 5th cut off) my percentage was 92%. for the first cut off list, for general category it was 96% i guess since the college is part of Delhi University , all the application to admission process in done from the main DU portal only , you have to fill the application form on Delhi university website only. Reservation is there for obc/sc/st/pwd/ews and other quota like sports

Course Curriculum Overview

I am a student of commerce stream from class 11th since I have interest in commerce banking business and also I want to become a CA so I preferred BCom hons since the syllabus matches a lot with CA syllabus which is helpful Teachers student ratio is also good, and there are always teachers available for solving any doubt or query . there are three section of BCom hons with 40 students in each class . Most of the teachers are very well qualified PhD holder.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 15475 per year

Placement Experience

placement is not good. only near about 10-12 percent students get placed every year. last year students are eligible for placement. Highest package goes up to 10 lakh and lowest is about 2.5 lakh. the companies which visit her are not very well know if you are studying from point view for preparing competitive exam or something then for sure you can seek admission

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure is bit high as compared to different college same course other college offer same course with more facilities and opportunities at lower fees , scholarship is provided but its not easy for every student to get a scholarship , very less amount of students get the scholarship . Job opportunity is not very good , its so so the average package goes up to 5 lakh and not well known companies come for placement. you can go for off campus placement opportunities and internships .

Campus Life

The biggest annual fest is organized in month of February , various artists come innt hat fest and its the best pat of college life, e-summit is also one of the big events of college, students from different college take part various games and competition are also organized. different sports activities and camps are organized by different college societies , societies are the best part of college number of societies are there of which student can be part of for their development and also a good point for their cv also, campus life is very good with green lushly gardens all around canteen and mother dairy booth.

The faculty members are supportive, knowledeable. Teacher explain concepts clearly and encourage student to participate in discussion
I like friendly and comfortable campus environment. student from different background intreact with each other
The college provides a good acedemics foundation and opptunities for overall development. being Part of delhi university also give student exposure to different events

Dislikes

some classroom and campus facilitues need improvement
placement oppotunites can be improved, esecially for student looking for better corporate exposure.
the evening college schedule can something be inconveibient because many acitvity and oppotunities are generally more accessible during regular college hours

Life at South Campus

Likes

The crowd at venky is great, diverse crowd.
The campus is well maintained and is one of the bests at DU.
Opportunities provided to students are great

The attendance policy is a little strict for 1st and 2nd year

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.

Likes

College is improving day by day teaching faculty is also helpful it recently got A++ NAAC credition as well
Overall college is good if you have good peer group.
Near to north campus so doesn't really feel much of headache if you want to visit regularly.

Dislikes

Shadara is not a good place to spend your college life.
Evening college crowd has made the reputation of the college bad.
Near by area is not safe for Girls in late hours.

Placement Experience:

6th sem is the first time college placement are proceeded . Companies are not impressive and mostly are entry level jobs such as cold calling and such which they offer. Highest package was 4 lpa and avg was 2.5 only. Around 60 percent students gets placed.

The online learning platform is easy ans simple to use students can acces lecture and assigments and study materials anytime
Faculty mambers provide clear guidance through online sessions and study materials they are supportive
They procides recording that was very usefull when we will not attend the live class

Dislikes

Since the classes are in online and also there are some techical issues while taking classes that will interupt classes
placement support is limited in online classes so students need to search for internships and job oppertunities on their own
Its deffecult to connect student coordinators while we wnat exam timetable etc they are too slow

I choose BCOM because the want to take ACCA after BCOM it will helps to improve my career and give a better job and also BCOM is the basices of ACCA like law, financial managment, taxation etc .The curriculam provide strong fountation for students who wamts to pursue higher studies such as M.COM , MBA and professuonal couses. Faculties are best. They teaches you and create never ending bond with you.
Infrastructure is good but the area is small , the greenery is amazing and flowers are sooo sweetest.

Dislikes

No hygiene in canteen. Avoid eating from canteen.

The curriculum is highly relevant notably the focus on real world applications and Advanced Financial reporting. It prepared me well for professional life. Improvement is needed in digital tool exposure.

i dont like any thing in this college

there is a green gaurden in my colleges old campus
we have a big ground in our college which i like i can play football there
they make an football ground in old campus which is good

Dislikes

techers are not good in teacing they just want to let it go the classes
my college was too small and the classes are not properly furnished for my class size
there is no place for sit in the shade or to make our mind diverted or have fun and the canteen is worst of old campus

i am from commerce background i want to do eco honers but in 12th i dont have mathematics so i cant then i decideid for b. com honers but i aloted the b.com program which is my 3rd priority umm i leanrd new things in my ncc and with my friends there are very less college activities to i dont know how to make my college life good and make some experiences they can make us travel with them to the real buiseness or any factory or a relay paper work from any company i want to do a camp in jab which is good for my ncc life but it is during my exams thats why i cant did that camp yet

i liked their faculty member and staff , they are played with students and taught as a friend
i liked canteen service and their foods it is hygienic but canteen infrastructure is not good
i liked their ground its have bollyball court basketball court badminton court and cricket ground also and they provide gym in college

i didn't like their campus because its not too much big
and college provide which lift service is not working properly
their bathroom is not too good and not too much hygienic

i choose bcom hons and all teacher are provide their 100% on their courses but neet to improve in practical exam because some computer not working and teacher teach students in one computer but there is no difficult paper according to time some time it's lengthy.

A students perspective on jdmc

I choose Janki Devi Memorial College mainly because it is a Delhi University College and has a good academic environment. I had applied to a few other DU colleges as well but the cutoffs is some of first slightly higher so, I could not get my preferred course there. When I got admission in Janki Devi Memorial College, I found that the faculty, infrastructure and overall environment is good, so I decided to continue here instead of waiting for further rounds. In comparison to other college I considerd JDMC has a disciplined environment, supported teachers and regular academic activities. The crowd is decent and the college focuses well or academics along with society and extra curricular activities which also influenced my decision.The admission process was conducted through Delhi University procedure. Eligibility depends on completing class 12th and qualifying through the entrance process used by DU. After the after the results and cut off education list are released, students confirmed their seats by submitting documents and paying the fees online. Life a Janki

Admission process was through CUET UG exam. The selection was done through CSAS portal based on our preference list and marks in CUET exam. Compared to other colleges, Janki is pretty quiet and isolated from other du colleges, which is good for safety. It is evolving each year and for an off campus college it's amazing.
