Remarks
Admission in this course is merit-based. There is no entrance exam. To be admitted to B. Optometry, you must have a grade point average of at least 60% in your 12th board exams with a science stream (PCB/PCM). You can find the application form on the official website of Galgotias University. Or you can get admission by directly entering the college, but it's better if you do online registration.
Course Curriculum Overview
This course is all about eye diseases and their diagnosis. With increasing technology, the scope of this field is increasing as even small kids are now suffering from myopia and wearing spectacles. After this course, you can set up your own clinic. You can assist the ophthalmologist, but you can't do surgery. There are about 9-10 faculty in our department and 27 students in our batch. Some teachers teach really well, but then some are unable to explain the topics. They provide more theoretical knowledge. Overall, it's an okay experience. The program is in semester mode.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are 60000/year, which is convenient compared to other private colleges. Students who score more than 90% on their 12th board are eligible for a 25% tuition fee waiver as a scholarship. Also, you can apply for a scholarship provided by the Uttar Pradesh government. They have good on-campus placement opportunities for engineering students but almost no or little opportunities for paramedical students. You have to search for an internship and a job on your own.
Campus Life
College life is good. Famous celebrities are called on for annual fests. There are so many clubs like dance, music, and sports. They organise events from time to time. If you have talent, they provide a good stage to showcase and grow.
