Remarks

To get admission in this course you need a JEE Main rank and have to go through the OJEE counselling process. If your JEE Main rank is below 1 lakh you'll surely get admission in this course at this university.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The faculty here is not much different from other universities. Most of them have a PhD. Some teachers are quite supportive while some others are not much. Exams are held twice a semester. A midsem of 30 marks and an Endsem of 50 marks and 20 marks are teachers' assessments and attendance. If you study 1 week before the exam you can pass all the subjects but if you study regularly you may also manage to get a good CGPA.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 40000 per year

Internships Opportunities

2.5

College might recommend you for training/internships in some companies like OHPC etc. But those opportunities are quite limited. You'll have to find recommendations for yourself for internships or you can also take the help of some internship-providing websites.

Placement Experience

3.5

Most of the students get placed in campus placements. Around 60-70 companies visit the campus every year. Some of them are start-ups. Students can sit in placement from their 7th semester. The highest package of last year was 17.6 LPA provided by Bank of New York and the average package was around 6 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are quite less compared to that of other private institutions or NITs or IITs. Your annual course fee is around 40,000/- (But if you get into a Self Sustaining Course (SSC) then your fees will be 80,000/- per annum). Anyone can get a job in some service-based IT company from this university with a package of around 4 LPA. But if you manage to stay in the top 5-10% of your class, you might also get a good core job with a package of 8-10 LPA.

Campus Life

VSSUT conducts 3 fests annually; An annual athletic meet (Illumina), a technical fest (Samavesh) and a cultural fest (Vassaunt). These are the days you'll enjoy the most during your college. Other than that there are various technical and cultural clubs and societies which conduct their own events. Classrooms and infrastructure are decent. You'll find all kinds of scientific and technical books in the library related to your course.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostels are okay. You'll be provided with beds, study tables and chairs in your room. Along with that high-speed free internet is provided. Washing machines are provided in the bathroom. The common room has a TV for entertainment. The food is decent. In old hostels like Kratu and Marichi, food is good and the hostel fee is quite low compared to other colleges.

Hostel Fee: INR 35000 per year

Decent faculty and top tier placements, just follow the rules

Likes

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

Dislikes

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

Likes

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Buckle up Journey in Vssut

I have applied to only Outr(formerly Cet Bhubaneswar). I have applied on the technical branches, but got none of them as my rank was around 152000. As Cet is not very good for its core branches, so I preferred Vssut over it. To get technical branches in cet bhubaneswar your rank should be under 50000 in Jee mains. The admission process is through the OJEE COUNSELLING. It is the counselling only for the students of odisha and anyone out of Odisha appearing the OJEE examination. The eligibility of our college is 45 percent. The admission process is quite hassle free. As once you got the seat in ojee counselling....Read More

But in outr there are not enough hostels for student neither the campus is that much attracting. O the other hand vssut have total 11 hostel and can accommodate every student studying and the campus is also somewhat good. But for csit branches there are not enough facilities in vssut To get admission here you have to get a rank in jee main exam and have to go through ojee counselling. To get to cse branch your all India rank must be within 1lakhs and for electrical branch its about 1.5lakhs and for lower branches production rank does not matter that must there are seats pending vacant you can get them via spot counselling...Read More
