Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as it covered all the subjects and various aspects of engineering which I am fond of. Being a computer lover this branch was the best pick. Generally, the student to faculty ratio is somewhat around 6:1 which is quite decent. Moreover teachers and friendly and ready to resolve your doubts. All of the faculty members are highly qualified with high certifications in their respective domains. Almost all the teachers have educational qualifications of Ph.D. The teaching method varies depending on the teacher. From the old school board marker method to using PPTs, videos, graphics, etc. B.Tech is 4 years. Every year consists of 2 semesters and in each semester 2 official exams(MidTerm and EndTerm) are conducted. These exams are not difficult to crack but at the same time not easy enough to pass without studying.
Internships Opportunities
Since I have not yet done any internship I can't provide any detailed review on this topic. However, according to my seniors, an internship is mandatory in your 3rd year. Since the internship is of limited time, around 1 to 2 projects are generally completed during the internship.
Placement Experience
Placements have become quite decent and improving relatively. From the 3rd year of your B.Tech, you become eligible for a campus placement drive. The internship is compulsory in 3rd year as well. In 2022 companies like Amazon, Adobe, TCS, etc visited USICT for the placement drive. The highest package was Rs 45LPA by AMAZON and the average package was around Rs 11-12 LPA. Most of the students opted for higher education. Around 50%-60% of people were placed in campus drives.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fee of the course is a minimal amount of Rs. 80,000. This amount is paid in 2 instalments, first during the online counselling which is Rs. 40,000 and the second instalment of again Rs. 40,000 before the course begins. Moreover, there is a decrease of Rs. 1000 after the first year(i.e. you need to pay Rs.79,000 afterwards). I wasn't eligible for financial assistance so I am not familiar with the procedure. However, the campus provides scholarship and financial aid support if you submit low-income documents and other required documents when asked for. Keep a check on all the notices for it. The average package for IT Branch was around Rs 12LPA for 2022 and big tech companies like AMAZON hired the students.
Campus Life
This is my favorite part: The Campus Life! It is the best. I mean you will be on the main campus of GGSIPU. You will get to enjoy the main fest ANUGOONJ. Apart from it Techfest, ethnic day, sports day, and other events are conducted. The library of the university is just amazing. Filled with so many books on various subjects and various authors. The library is well air-conditioned. The sitting capacity of the library is quite decent as well. The classrooms of the IT department are pretty decent. The only red flag is- no A/C.However, it didn't bother me much as most of the time we were in labs which are again air-conditioned. The sports facility of the college is amazing. Football ground, volleyball court, basketball court, swimming pool, indoor badminton court, and whatnot. The college has a large number of clubs and societies like ACM, GDSC, IEEE, dance, music and singing, photography, fine arts, chess club, etc.
