Remarks
The campus is very beautiful, has all the necessities for the students but the college management could be better.
Entrance Preview
I appeared for Common Entrance Test (CET) and cleared it with 28 rank. I opted for this college because there was no other college of IP University offered the same course. I also appeared for entrance exams to get admission in IIMC and Jamia Milia Islamia but didn't clear them so I took admission in the only college of IPU which offered MMC.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is well-planned. There are 4 semesters which you have to clear in 2 years. The first year is common for all whereas in the second year, the students are supposed to choose the specialization in accordance with their respective field of interest. I chose specialization in Journalism and News media in the final year during which we were supposed to do research of any topic of our choice which is related to the field of our specialization. The course structure includes all the subjects which are important for the course which makes it easy for the students did not do graduation in the same subject.
Internships Opportunities
No. Forget about the internship, the college did not even provide placement. Just one company i.e. ScoopWhoop came to the college and hired some 6 students. the teachers might help a bit, that too only if you have cordial relation with them.
Placement Experience
As already told, the college least bothers about providing placements and job opportunities to even the deserving students. Only one company ScoopWhoop came to our college which hired 6 students. The teachers promised a lot but didn't fulfill any. At the end students had to manage everything on their own in such a short period of time.
College Events
Anugoonj is the famous annual cultural festival of IP University and our campus was the place where all the students of IP University, i.e. from all the colleges gathered for the celebrations. it is a three day festivals where there are different talent rounds, jam session, rain dance, and competitions held. Anugoonj is believed to be a great platform for students to showcase their talents in different fields.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is affordable for a middle class family. I paid nearly one lakh rupees for two years for this course. There are no additional or hidden fee apart from this that the students need to pay during the entire course. You need to pay Rs. 5,000 as security amount which you will get back at the end of the course after clearing all the dues of college.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't have any idea about the loan or scholarship facility. But I think the college has it. Otherwise it would be unfair for the students who are deserving, are intelligent but do not have enough funds to fulfill their desire of education.
Campus Life
Campus life was amazing. It is such a big campus which all the facilities starting from gym to a park, laboratories to studios and so on. It has hostel facility with hundreds of rooms available. The hostels for girls and boys are separate with all the facilities including mess in it. As far as the extracurricular activities are concerned, the college has different cultural clubs for it. For instance, singing club, literary club, dance club, dramatics society, etc with different names. Apart from these, it offers various sports equipment and other facilities like coaches etc. for the students to learn the sport in the best possible way. The college has diversity as the students come from different backgrounds, religion, race, political and economic status.
Hostel Facilities
The college has a big canteen where you will not only find chaat, but italian dishes like pizza, momos also. Other dishes included chilly potatoes, veg thali which is a must try, chowmein, patties and so on. the quality of the food is good and the prices are reasonable. they don't charge much.
Alumni/Alumna
We had an amazing group of seniors who were not only humble enough, but also helped us a lot by providing notes and helping us during the time of examinations. They guided us at every step and were always there whenever we needed them.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is good. We had one exam every alternate day. But their were two internal exams held every day continuously for three consecutive days which made the students exhausted. But there is one good thing about studying in the main campus that you do not need to go to any other college to appear for the exams. The Vivas were also held in the campus itself.
Admission
The procedure of getting admission into the college started with filling application form online. I got to know about the examination through Navbharat Times newspaper. Then after applying for the examination, I checked the website for the examination date and venue. I downloaded the admit card which was available on their website and appeared for the exam on the given date. I got to know about the results and notification for counseling through the official website of IPU i.e. www.ipu.ac.in and went for the counseling process where I completed all the formalities and submitted a Demand Draft of Rs. 55,000 and was told about the date of commencement of the session.
Faculty
The faculty was qualified enough. All the professors were NET qualified, but when it comes to the efficiency of the teachers, I was not really satisfied with it. As the strength of the class(which was nearly 55 in the first year) got divided according to the specializations, the teachers lost interest in teaching. They didn't turn up on time, gave random assignments instead of teaching and sometimes missed classes as well. Although they were highly qualified and experienced in the field, but did not share the know;edge with students to the fullest.
