Remarks

The admission process was online due to COVID, however, it was smooth. I think more communication and better transparency should have been established. Fee Structure while categorically defined is still vague. Aspirants should know what they are getting into before paying hefty fees

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Exams were timed pretty decently. We had an organisation-specific exam portal where our exams happened in the first sem (due to COVID). Exams in offline mode are conducted pretty decently. There's only been once a case where there's an administrative issue. The difficulty of exam papers depends on the professors. They are given full authority to set the question paper. Question paper pattern is objective or subjective based on the professor, but they are based on practical knowledge we learnt in classroom sessions. Few professors prefer case-based exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are multiple internship opportunities. One is through Summer Internship placements that happen within the campus through which students get placed for summer internships in the best companies and receive a stipend. Internship opportunities are also available through case competitions. XLRI is eligible in almost all the case competitions where few companies grant PPSI, and PPI offers. The internship stipend average is almost 1.75 lakh/month which is quite good.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are pretty decent. XLRI is among the top 5 B-schools and come under creme de la creme these recruiters are more than happy to recruit students from our institute. Summer Internship placements happen right after 3 months into your joining this institute. Companies like Bain, BCG, McKinsey, TAS, ABG, JPMC etc recruit students for internships as well as for final placements. Everyone gets placed and the average salary is 24 lakhs. Post placements, students start as a management trainees.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are multiple scholarships: OPJEMS, Aditya Birla scholarship etc. There are about 200+ companies that visit campus for placement activities for SIPs as well as final placements. The cost of studying is expensive. It's almost 12.5 lakh for a year. However there are multiple associations with banks, so banks like SBI, Central bank of India etc. are more than happy to offer financial assistance through loans. The interest is usually around 7-8%, so it's affordable enough. Since there are placement opportunities, everyone gets placed with decent jobs so finance is not really an issue.

Campus Life

4

Life at XL Campus is amazing. We call ourselves XL Mafia. There are a lot of events that happen around the year. The flagship event of XLRI is EV. There are multiple committees that conduct fun as well as learning-filled events. Classrooms are well managed. Sports and extracurricular activities are a prominent part of MBA life. There is a sports contingent. XL vs IIMC is a thing. There are about 23 committees in XL, which are largely functional, extracurricular and interest groups.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel rooms are decent. Hostel rooms are single occupancy rooms, so everyone has their own privacy. There are guards around the clock in the hostel reception who are responsible for safety. We have lifts in the hostels so it's quite convenient. Mess food is average. There are 4 meals that are provided. Girls' mess is in the Girl's Hostel and then there's a common mess as well. The food quality can certainly be improved. We have infraction committee that checks with the mess vendor to ensure good quality with better food options.

Interview Experience

4.5

For the last two years, due to COVID, the GD process has been scrapped, but we had a PI process. PI was based on the answers that we filled out while applying for the interview post-Xat results. The interview revolves around your knowledge about business, about your past experience: school, college, workex. A question that is always asked is: Why MBA? Preparation for interviews must be thorough. The aspirant must identify every question that can be asked from their work experience. It's important that you drive your interviews and it all starts with "Tell me something about yourself". Aspirants need to place the words here that the interviewer from the panel may get interested in. Driving your interviews is about speaking keywords in your answers that you are already well versed with. Sometimes interviews just to check whether you know what you are speaking pick up these keywords, and voila you have got a chance to impress them with your knowledge. Driving your interview is the only key

Placement Experience:

After 4th semester students get eligible for placements. I guess around more than 50+ companies visit the campus. The highest package is always around 20+ lakhs and on average you can consider 12 lakhs while the lowest is 8 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placed can be said around 95%. My plan is to get a good corporate job and work there as such no fancy plans.

Placement Experience:

There are many companies that visit IMS and pick students by taking exams and interviews. Some of them include Accenture, Capgemini, tcs, etc. These multinational companies visit and you can take your chance by qualifying exam and interview. In short, there is full placement in IMS and you will surely be settled after your course.

The college and campus were built on strong fundamentals that each and every student is important even though they are passed out they would still remain a member of the institute. Hence, my professors use to help us even after becoming post graduated.apart from that this college actually helped us to enhance our business tactics and encouraged our outcomes on the case studies and researches.
