Remarks
Wrote VITEE to get admission here. My rank was 10k, the exact I didn't remember. Straight then went on google to search about it, and was fascinated by seeing its greenery, campus, and facilities. We were called in 1st sem in mid of July 2018. Then the one week was like ice-breaking classes, interactions, orientation, and curriculum discussion in the auditorium. Made friends right from the day 1st. And our class started after one week and it was like 5-6 classes a day including theory and lab both. The automotive engineering that I chose was very good for me. The admission process in a nutshell was as easy and smooth as you start eating softy without any hard work. And the allotment for seats is merely done on the VITEE rank basis. Later, they ask to pay a sum of 3 lakhs as a demand draft there (which is mandatory for everyone to submit).
Course Curriculum Overview
VIT has 3 proper pen/paper exams namely 2 CATs (Continuous assessment Tests) and 1 FAT (Final assessment Test). CAT 1 will start after 30 days after the semester begins. It generally contains modules 1,2,3 and sometimes 4. It happens for 50 marks in total. Then get converted on a scale of 15. So weightage is 15% for a particular subject. The CAT 2 is an open book assessment containing the same 50 marks and 15% weightage overall. Here open book means you can make your self note and take it with you before you appear for CAT 2 test. But many students think they can write the whole syllabus in their copy and get the most out of it. But to make them aware, the question asked for CAT 2 examination is not straightforward, but the question would be out of the box, so if you have studied the subject then only you would be able to answer in the exam, otherwise, your notes would be a piece of paper and not more than that. Then comes the FAT exams which happen for 100 marks.
Internships Opportunities
As a part of the B.Tech program curriculum, every student has to have a minimum of 1 internship in their B.Tech journey. Students have to pursue their internship either from their source or ask VIT faculty to provide one of the same. The Internship duration should not be less than 28 days provided you make a report for the same at the end of the day.
Placement Experience
Students passing their 6th semester or getting to the 7th semester are eligible for the placements process. Several companies come under regular, dream, and super dream. The regular companies have a CTC of less than 6 LPA. The dream company has a CTC of 6 to 10 LPA. And then the super dream company have a CTC of more than 10 LPA. In 2022 one company also hired two students on a package of 1.2 crores as a salary, which is the highest for VIT till now. Here approximately all the companies across the globe hire students. Some include Adobe, Microsoft, Google, Hitachi, Havel's, Ford, Mercedes, MRF, Whirlpool, L&T, JSW, and a lot more. The company starts coming from July to August for the final year students and it happens till the end of April or May of the passing year. The average package of students here is 6 LPA. Approximately VIT placement cells try to place all the students of every program admission. So approximately 90% of the students get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
Here the college fees are 3 lakhs per annum including the hostel which is quite affordable for any student who opts to get admission here. To get the scholarship the VITEE rank should be less than 1000 also sometimes if you are a native of Tamil Nadu then you might get a scholarship which is a category called "star student" which is for those who can't afford the fees but are good in academics. Here PLACEMENTS or campus job starts when a student is passing his sixth semester or approaching to 7th semester. Various companies come into this college including regular companies dream companies super dream companies. The CTC for the regular company will be 4 or less than 4 LPA. For the dream company, the CTC will be 6 LPA to 10 LPA. And for super dream companies, the CTC would be beyond 10 LPA. Sometimes companies like Deloitte and TCS give a CTC of 5 or 6 LPA but termed it as a dream offer which means a student getting this offer cannot sit for another dream of hers which is from 6 to 10 LPA.

The VIT campus is full of greenery and facilities and food stalls at every footstep. From 2nd year onwards the student will get the room based on merit which will be calculated based on the first year's result, particularly the first semester. Rooms will be in both AC as well as non-AC. In mess, there are three types veg, nonveg, and special. The which is the cheapest one then nonveg and the special are the costliest among all. Generally, you will find a good meal or test of the food of the mess but sometimes rarely happens that you won't like the food at all. The process of making the food and delivery to the students is very clean and hygienic and there is no doubt about it.
