Overall i would proudly suggest our college to anyone looking for a private institution to complete their B.tech degree. The college has excellent faculty and management . Every requirement of the students are met and there's a huge scope for every student to excel in their life.
Entrance Preview
I appeared for the WBJEE examination 2014 and secured a rank of 54043 . I was pretty skeptical about getting admission in Jis college of engineering , But luckily i got admitted to this college .This is one of the top private institutes in India (Currently the fifth all over India) . Hence it was a big yes from my side getting admitted here . As of the course , Electrical Engineering has always been my passion and dream and get admitted in this college with my dream course was a great deal to me.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is a good blend of knowledge and fun . The subjects are easy and fun and there's a huge variety that helps us broaden our knowledge . Apart form the regular curriculum there are various other addons like seminars and mock tests that help us evaluate our condition and thrive for the better.
Internships Opportunities
Our college does provide internship in various companies like TCS and Tech mahindra to the final year students . The internship is a vital fact for the B.tech course as it helps us get a proper knowledge about the life of an engineer.As a 3rd year student i have no idea about the stipend .
Placement Experience
Our college is one of the leading colleges that provide almost 90-100% placement . This has been a constant for this institute for the past years and the recruiters are some big Industrial giants like TCS , Tech mahindra , Amazon , e.t.c .Some of the brilliant students get great packages of 30-40000 per month as the starting salary .
College Events
Our college celebrates a lot of events , some the big ones are Annual Technical Fest Cricket Tournament Football Tournament Annual College fest There are lot of other cultural events like the Independence day celebration and Rabindra jayanti celebration. The events are a Galas show and the participation of students are humongous.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is really affordable considering the cost of education on some top institutes. I personally pay around 40,000 per semester and that was cheap compared to other private institutes with this being an autonomous institute and that is a huge plus point for us.

Our college has a tie up with Punjab National Bank and hence students get education loans at really low prices . The college also provides a wide variety of scholarships for various minority students based on different criteria .
Campus Life
Campus life here at JIS is really fun . We live as one big family and discrimination among students is non assistant . The gender ratio would be around 3:2 boy girl ratio , and there's no touch of politics in the campus . There's no question of intolerance and everyone is friendly. The campus is ragging free and very strict against ragging , hence even the newcomers are always welcome and they feel at home the instant they join .
Hostel Facilities
The Hostel Facilities of our institution is really great. The students are given proper and well maintained rooms and toilet facilities . The food is supplied from the college canteen and is properly cooked while maintaining proper hygiene . The Hostel requires an admission fee and a semester wise payment method.As of the PG's around the college , The fees are are affordable . You get fooding , lodging and everything for around 4000 Rs .
Alumni/Alumna
Our college alumni is really helpful and they always stay in touch . They help us in every possible way and support us to face the future hurdles of the course. Even though the college doesn't organize any event to interact directly with our alumni we always stay in touch online.
Exam Structure
The Exam structure is perfect for every student here . We are not pressurized at all .There is a proper amount of interval between internals and also the semesters . The labs are conducted on a regular basis and there's a balance between classes and labs so as to not create any pressure on the students.
Admission
I applied for the online counseling process of the WBJEE Board , and selected JIS as my first Option . Luckily i got admitted here. The admission was really easy and transparent . We had to visit the campus on a given date and there were some senior students present o help us out. The process was short and easy and even some members of the management provided a helping hand , And in no time i was part of this great institution.
Faculty
The best part of our college is our "Happy to help" faculty . I rather consider them family . They never take step back in helping us out in each and every step we take.We never receive no for an answer from any faculty member. The teachers are regular and really hardworking and the only thing that matters to them is our well being and a great future.
