Course Curriculum Overview
I am doing a BA hons in statistics (economics, mathematics, statistics). I choose this course because of the opportunities it provides in both government and the public sector. The faculty is good at teaching but the ratio is very poor. All the faculty members have good experience but some are not regular. Now digital method of teaching is being promoted in all courses. The curriculum is based on semester bases exams after every semester. In BHU scoring good grades or passing had never been a problem an average student can easily score above 8 CGPA.
Internships Opportunities
One has to appear in interviews to get an internship. I had done a 4-month internship with parmar consultancy as an HR intern. They provided a good stipend, 6000 after completion plus incentives. BHU doesn't provide many of the opportunities but the placement cell keeps you updated through social media.
Placement Experience
Placement in courses like foreign languages is excellent almost everyone gets placed in languages like german and Spanish. After UG one get the highest placement of about 12 lahks per annum in BA. Apart from that many companies visits the campus for open interviews or selection process
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is minimal in BHU as compared to the facilities it provides, just 2500 a year and around 5000 in hostel fees. apart from that mess charges are around 3000-3500 per month. BHU provide free medical services to all student in one of the best hospitals in this area. There are many scholarships based on the entrance exam, your performance in college and scholarships for economically weaker students. There are also paid internships on the campus itself like in the library and offices to provide financial assistance to student
Campus Life
Every day one can find a seminar/ workshop/cultural event going on on campus. The campus is very vast and includes IIT BHU, the institute of medical science, the institute of science etc. There is no restriction on campus related to access to any event on campus. One can attend all the fests conducted by any faculty infect annual fests in BHU are breathtaking. Libray facilities are awesome,
Admission
Basically, the eligibility for the BA Hons course is that you have passed your 12th grade. Apart from that now BHU is also among the colleges whose entrance exam is conducted by NTA through CUET. For that, you have to appear in a general paper and one language paper (only for BA arts and BA Social Science).
