Remarks

The college management are a bunch of money minded people but if you keep your heads do and not look out for trouble you will surely not get into any and you will have a great time at rv.

Entrance Preview

I gave Comed k I got 111 marks And I got a rank of 588 I chose this college because it is the top in Karnataka after the NIT's according to the ranks.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college is autonomous in nature and design there own syllabus but it correspond very closely to the vtu syllabus . The course is not very tough and easy to follow. You get a syllabus book every semester that contains the topics to be studied and the reference materials to be used.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college doesnot provide any kind of internship . But there are a lot of technical groups in the college which you can join and they get there own funding from college and other sources. There are a few company who come for pre-placement which provide internship . National instruments were one of them and so was bell helicopters.

Placement Experience

4.5

placements opportunities are great if you know good programming or electronics . You sure will get placed for a open dream offer (above 8 lac's) . And there are a few mass recruiters also who come to the company and so even if you are not that great at engineering in general dont worry because will get placed. One thing good about rv is its placement. period

College Events

4.5

there are individual department fests. and then there is the main fest known as 8th mile. departmental fests are usually very small and technical in nature. 8th mile is both a technical and cultural fest and it takes place on a really large scale. The E-cell of the college also has its own fest with b-plans , talks and other activities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is neither too expensive now too cheap. They charge 1 lakh 65 thousand per year for comed k students and the hostel fes is 65000 every year which includes the mess fess as well. The fees for cet students and the management students are different.I dont have the information regarding that. You may call the college and get that info.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didnt use any scholar ship but they do provide scholaships if you have a financial condition and cant pay it on your own.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life in rv is great . You have a mixed crowd. The ones who only study , the ones who only party and the ones who do both . try to fall in the last zone. You get enough opportunities for extra curricular activities and sport. the college has a great football and cricket team . They have the drama grout CARV . they have a dancing group footprint and so on.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

the first year hostel has 3 people sharing a room . room is small .mess food is ok. 2nd year hostel also has 3 people sharing but the mess is not that great. rooms are big though. the third year hostel is the worse. the mess also sucks. 4th year hostel is the best with individual rooms and a balcony and the food is also okh.

Alumni/Alumna

RV has a rich alumni and all of them are doing great in live. You can check them out on groups in Facebook or just go to LinkedIn and search . We are a helpful bunch and will help you with anything you need.

Exam Structure

You have to give on internal every month in a semester so there are three internals. One lab internal and then your external for both lab and theory. internal comprises as 50 percent and external the other 50 percent . You have to also prepare for self study which accounts for 20 percent of the internals. Self study is basically like a mini project that you have to do every semester.

Admission

I gave comed k. I got my rank. After which appeared for the counselling rounds and chose my branch and college . After that ii had to go to the college and make the respective payments for the college fees . College hostel was also provided and the payment had to be made.

Faculty

3

I am from electrical and the electronics departments and as far as the faculty is concerned . There are only a few senior faculties who are really good with there concepts and teach really well . Except 2 to 3 of these good faculties the rest of the faculty is a bunch of un experienced professionals who do not know there subjects properly . In rv self-studying is very important and you cant be dependent on the faculty.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
