Course Curriculum Overview
Choosing this course was entirely based on my result in jee mains. Coming to the teaching scenario here, the professors are very well-qualified. They are from NITS, IITs and other reputed institutes of the country, although most of them are Bengali. The faculty-to-student ratio is quite satisfactory here. The professors mainly follow the blackboard and chalk way of teaching which I think is to be the best way as well, while some of them go for projectors and PPTs. You can approach them with your doubts and mostly they will not disappoint you. There is one mid-sem in each semester which is followed by the sem exam. The semester duration is 4 months, and the exams held here are of moderate level, if you study and follow the class regularly, its not that difficult to score good marks.
Internships Opportunities
The college helps with internships after the 3rd year, the CDC body looks after that. Students can do research internships and projects under the professors in the college as well. Outside students can also apply for a research internship over here which is held for two months in May and June.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for placements from 3RD year only. The companies start coming from around August to hire. Major companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, JP Morgan, Texas Instruments, and L&T along with some Psus such as iocl, bhel etc come for recruitment over here. Last year there were more than 600 offers made. The highest package was 70 lpa on campus and the average package was 13.64 lpa. more than 85% of students were placed. I plan to go for higher studies after completing b.tech.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee is 78800 for general students. The waiver is applicable for all on the basis of reservation or income category. The total first-year fee is around 190000 lakhs. The institute notifies about the scholarships that are available and one can apply at the scholarship section of the institute.
Campus Life
Recstacy is the annual cultural fest here conducted in April, Aarohan is the annual tech fest conducted in March and Recrave is the major food fest here. Although many other big events such as Virasat, Tedx, and Quizzitch Cup all happen throughout the year. NIT Durgapur has its own central library which contains a large number of books, volumes and journals of various Indian and foreign authors. Books on various competitive exams like GATE, and UPSC are also present here. The classrooms are large and spacious in the NAB and are well equipped with AC and projectors. The student activity centre (SAC) is equipped with all kinds of sports facilities, there is a gym though it needs to be renovated. It has a badminton court, tennis court and basketball court. Ovals and lords are the main playgrounds over here. NIT Durgapur has a very active club culture , it has over 20 clubs both technical and non technical that hosts various events throughout the year inside the college and outside as well

To secure admission into NIT DURGAPUR, the qualifying JEE MAINS examination is a must, which is conducted every year twice by NTA. The application form will be released in December. The OR for ME in Nit DGP is around 20k and the CR is around 35k for general . Reservation is there as per the constitutional norms.
