Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I have chosen this course because of the broader knowledge about different subjects for the upsc exam. Facilities are good and the student ratio are boys to girls is 60:40 approx. Different semesters have different teachers and you get to learn a lot from them. Yeah, the faculty is good and the traditional way of teaching is like the way it was before. Covid batches exams were affected that's why exams were not in timely but now the remaining semesters are getting at a good pace.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of studies isn't that much. But the rent for a stay is slightly high. I haven't got any scholarship, financial assistance, or job on campus. But I've heard of college scholarships for SC/ST where all the fees are being returned to students. I don't know much about this.

Campus Life

3.5

Infrastructure is good but the majority of the facilities are for the morning batch of students. Most books that you need will be available in the Library where you can issue your library card. There are annual fest conducted we were part of the fest at the year in starting of this year. There are every type of extracurricular activities that can help you in other various sectors of your interests. There are many groups which are run by students for exam preparation and notice regarding college works.

Admission

We were the batches which was affected due to COVID-19 so we were directly qualified 12th standard and we were selected in DU by Cutoff marks of the best 4 subjects. The entrance of CUET was introduced later. Nowadays DU entrance is based on cuet marks and the total course fee would be around 8400 x 3 = 25,200 approx. Reservation benefits can be availed if you're a minority/SC or ST/Kashmiri migrant/army services accordingly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA English Honours curriculum at DU SOL is relevant and provides a strong foundation in literature and language. The course covers diverse topics that support academic learning and critical thinking. The flexible structure is suitable for distance-learning students. Adding more practical activities, updated study materials, and interactive learning opportunities could further improve the overall course experience.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
