Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

To explore in this technical world one should be aware of coding and required skills so pursuing cse one can be able to learn them. The Cse department in NitW is the top most branch with huge placement offers so for my rank it is the best imo. The faculty in NitW Cse are very good who are highly educated with good communication skills. The student faculty ratio is 15:1 which was discussed in our induction programme. The teaching is good. The exams here are conducted for 100 Marks each semester. The minimum marks a student should get to pass the exam is around 40/100. So if one works smart and a little hard it is easy to pass.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The students will get a lot of internship opportunities in the 3rd Yr. The campus gives permission to students to go out the campus for internships for 4 to 6 months. At the end of the 4th Yr every student has to be ready with a project related to or not related to their domain which is an essential factor to get a degree certificate.

Placement Experience

4.5

When it comes to placements the NitW Cse branch will be on high heels as usual. The students after 3rd Yr can sit for placements with required qualifications. About 200 companies come to our college for campus interviews. More than 1300 students got placed in different companies last year. The highest package upto present is 88lpa from coding background. I just want to explore all the activities in clg and to get placed in a top MNC like Amazon, Microsoft.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total semester fee is 62500 with each yr two semesters. The college provides educational loan to students through SBI(as I took it). There are reservation benefits for SC/ST/PWD students for which there is no tuition fee. Fee remission is applicable to the students whose family's annual income is less than 2 to 5 lakh. Top 10 Toppers get fee remission for each semester.

Campus Life

4.5

The college life is so Excellent with many things to explore including sports, clubs, fests, events,...etc. The NitW has a separate student and faculty website names Smile Portal :) all the notices and term registration will ne uploaded on that website. The classrooms are spacious and comfortable enough to study. There is huge library including thousands of books and e-books. There is a digital ATM kinda machine for borrowing books in library which saves a lot of time. There are software clubs, business, entrepreneur, movies clubs and alot...to explore for different mindsets.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The first year girls hostel are below average with triple accommodation with two cupboards, three beds, no Lan provided. The registration for hostels will be done on Smile Portal during registration in online physical reporting process. The rooms and the washrooms are not at all clean. The girls hostel mine Sarojini will be closed at sharp 8:30 pm while dinner timings is 7 to 9pm:( The hostel fees is high with no proper maintainance. The Priyadarshini mess has good food when compared to boys Ifc messes. Fruits, sweets will also be served in regular intervals. The mess fees should be paid for every 15 days 115/- per day through Quick connect app.

Admission

The admission process is conducted in online through JOSAA and CSAB. They conduct it through web options based on cutoff ranks of colleges in Jee Mains and Advance. To get a seat in NitW Cse department general rank should be around 3k-4k and obc rank below 1200 in Mains. They first check general rank and then category ranks. The process is very clean and no politics involved in it. Any student who got minimum percentile in jee Mains can register for this process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
