Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for BA psychology as I am very interested in this field .The student to faculty ratio is quite strong and decent. Each subject includes 4 professors. The professors hold doctorate positions in their respective fields. And also the teaching methods are offline as well as online with the use of digital techniques. Exams are taken after every 2 months approx , and passing them involves maintaining balance in attendance, academics, extra curricular, and behavior as well.
Placement Experience
I'm a first year student and hence haven't yet experienced any internship opportunities yet. Students are eligible for internships in the 3rd semester. A large number of students are offered various internships in various departments. My plans after getting this degree are not too clear as of now .
Fees and Financial Aid
Being a government university, BHU offers multiple courses on low nd affordable prices. What would cost u more is just the accommodation. Being a first year student I'm not yet exposed to any of the jobs but yes scholarships are offered to the students of the state which are 100 percent genuine.
Campus Life
Kashi Yatra is one of the biggest 3 days and nights fest in BHU campus, it involves concerts by bollywood singers . Stand up performances, competitions etc. Fest are conducted almost after every few months. Freshers are conducted by different departments .Talking about the library, there is no such book in our syllabus that cannot be found in our library and also they are easily available to the students with their I'd cards.Classrooms are big enough with the capacity of accommodating 150 students with well developed digital white boards . Various clubs and departments conduct internships nd seminars every now and then . The campus includes NSS, NCC, handball , football etc clubs for the active development of students . A few very important clubs run by students are manaswini, a psychology club run by the students and talasya is a dance club run by the students.
Hostel Facilities
The place of my accommodation is quite decent and good . The rent per month is 7,000 . It is a safe area and there are double and single sweaters with a very positive studying environment. The food provided is really healthy and there are varieties like raja Chahal, idli Sambhar, fried rice, paneer , panipuri, samosa etc . You can apply for the hostels or pgs through online contacts and applying online. I've rented my room in LANKA, Varanasi .
Admission
The admission process was quite decent although the counseling process after the exams was very unorganised and extremely chaotic. The cut off depended on the courses applied. I applied for Ba psychology and the cut off was 250 out of 350. The applications can be found on cuetsamarth.com . It offers courses for both ug and pg all over the country .The dates or cuet are mostly around months if April nd may .
