Remarks

Overall college is awesome, The college management is way better than the management of the university. The work is done on time in Chief Proctor office. the results are declared bit late.

Entrance Preview

I took JEE Main for admission to this college. I scored 108 marks in mains and I had few choices like good state government engineering colleges or private colleges. I preferred state government college because fees are very much less compared to private colleges and faculties are much better.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The college timings are from 10 am to 4 pm. The college provides 12 courses per year (two semesters). The syllabus of RTU is same as that of many top IITs. The course is inclined more towards practical approach than towards theoretical. There are six subjects per semester along with four practical laboratory classes.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides industrial tours every year to different places like the Thermal power plant, nuclear power plant etc. The Industrial training is provided to students in the third year and they can officially intern from the end of the third year. The college refers the students to companies and PSUs like HAL, DRDO etc.

Placement Experience

3.5

Many reputed companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys visit the campus and hire at an average package of Rs. 3,50,000. Around 50-60 per cent of students get placed. The placement of petroleum engineering branch of the college is also very good. The highest package goes up to 25 LPA approximately.

College Events

4

The biggest tech-fest of RTU is Thar. Other events happen in RTU campus like Uttrardh, ATVC, Anukriti, etc. Both technical and cultural fests are organised. The campus crowd is very large. There are eight technical clubs and three non-technical clubs in SAC (student activity centre).

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college fees are about seventy-eight thousand rupees per year for SFS seats and outside Rajasthan students. The fees are around thirty-five thousand rupees for GAS seats and there are few TFW seats who don't have to pay anything. The hostel fees are ten thousand rupees per year and mess fees is about 40 thousand rupees per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are no scholarships for general students and the students whose parents are in government jobs. The state government provides the scholarship to the students of Rajasthan who are of SC/ST and OBC category.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is very good. The gender ratio is about 7:1. There are students from different cultures and backgrounds. Many students are from outside Rajasthan. Many fests and workshop are organised in the college campus. There is a student activity centre (SAC) under which all the clubs like music, drama, robotics, entrepreneurship etc operate. These clubs work on different projects regularly and represent the college at many events.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are four boy's hostel and two girl's hostel. New boys and girls hostel has been constructed and most probably be allotted to students in next session. The rooms in the first year are on triple sharing basis. From second year and onwards single rooms are provided. All the hostels have wifi connectivity with around 2-3 Mbps speed. The mess food is very good here compared to other private and government college hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very strong in this College. Most of the alumni are working in reputed companies and firms like Apple and Google. The senior students are very helpful and coordination is excellent with juniors during technical and cultural fests. The seniors help a lot during semester exams.

Exam Structure

There are two mid-semester exams of twenty-five marks each and the final semester exams. There are six subjects in each semester and four labs. The theoretical papers are of total 150 marks(100 end sem exam +50 mid sem exam) the practical exams are of 100 marks each.

Admission

After declaration of Jee Main results. The REAP counseling process for admissions in government engineering colleges of Rajasthan started. I filled out the form which costed ten thousand rupees which would be substracted in college fees if taken admission. The college was allotted in first round to outside Rajasthan candidates and then next three rounds for students of Rajasthan. After the allotment of colleges we had to go to respective college within ten days and take admission.

Faculty

4

The quality of education is very good here. The professors are highly qualified and have great knowledge of their field. They have published their research papers in national as well as international journals. Most of them have PhD from reputed colleges. The college timings are from 10 am to 4 pm. The college offers 12 courses per year on an average. Around 50 new faculties have been recruited under TEQIP program which has completed Masters from reputed colleges.

There are certain areas for improvement but they will keep get better. Obviously there is a campussing process that gives the students the opportunity to get their desired job. You can also go off campus to get bigger opportunity, but it will be on your head only that means it's a risk. But the average placement provided by the university is 6 lakhs and the highest one is 72 lakhs per annum.
