Remarks

Conclusion would be join for any other college as there are hardly any placement drives or special coaching to prepare the students for life after graduation, not value for money.

Entrance Preview

CET, my ranking was 102300, which is very bad so I took admission in hkbk through management quota for civil engineering in HKBKCE

Internships Opportunities

NO. They had promised us internships but there is no company till now which came to our campus to provide the students with internships.

Placement Experience

1.5

This is the worst part of HKBKCE. The placements are pathetic and all time low. No placements for civil and mechanical whatsoever. BPOs coming in to hire engineers is very bad. Few placements happening in Computer science and Information science though.

College Events

2.5

There are two main events that take place every year. One is the technical fest and the other is the cultural fest chingari. Apart from these two events, there are other celebrations take place such as ethnic day and international students day as there are lot international students present in the college. These events are totally Intra college events so nothing great to be excited about.

Fee Structure And Facilities

If you are taking admission through CET or any other competitive exams the fees are standard. But when you're taking the admission through management quota, the fees vary from course to course. Where the starting price is 1.25L for civil which goes up to 2L for CS which is pretty expensive taking into consideration the placement and facilities they provide.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio depends from branch to branch. There are no girls in the mechanical department. And the ratio is also bad in the civil department as the girls don't opt for these branches in other branches the ratio is okayish but the boys are slightly more. There are the lot of foreign students coming in so a little diverse you can say. Not much to say about the extracurricular activity as there is none. There's annual sports day happening which is almost a grand event. They're no ragging or intolerance or any that kind of stuff happening whatsoever. Mostly, Muslims in the college but no intolerance what. It is mostly the middle-class students who study here.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel rooms are available in abundance so no need to look or PGs, but there are lot of PGs available near the college and the prices for three sharing starts at 6K. Muzamil PG is quite famous with boys. The food in the mess is not very good, there is no variety also available which bores the students.

Alumni/Alumna

Had a few senior friends, as they graduated they felt a bit helpless as they didn't find any help coming from the college to assist them into placement which is a little worrisome.

Exam Structure

Exams theoretical and and practical are followed as per the Vtu norms as the college is affiliated to Vtu. Labs will be chilled towards the beginning to they make it hectic towards the end. Labs are though easy not much to worry about. Number of equipments present in the department are less so that's an issue.

Admission

I couldn't make it into any average college through CET as my marks were very bad so I directly went to HKBKCE and asked for admissions is BE{CIVIL} to which they asked me to pay the fees immediately as there where less seats left which was not true, in short admissions in HKBKCE is no issue if one is looking through college quota seats.

Faculty

3

It would be a mixed review here. Some faculty is top notch. Some pretty average and some not fit for teaching. Though the faculty is always qualified the ill experience is what troubles the students. And there always some faculty leaving their jobs in mid semester and new teachers walking in which makes it a little difficult to adapt.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

From 6th semester we will become eligible for campus placements. Very few companies will visit for chemical engineering those are aslo not core. Highest package offered for a chemical engineering is 600000 I guess this aslo a long back. But dont take a hope on placements here in chemical weapons. Do mainly focus on Gate exam. Get good score go for mtech or apply for good core jobs for interview.
