Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I have an interest on automotives and mechanics which I find very fascinating.The faculties are experienced and teaches very well.The faculties uses ppts to present and uses the lab facilities to help the students understand the concept.There is enough time between exams.There are three exams I e cat 1 cat 2(open book test) and fats.As every exam students will find it easy if they study.
Internships Opportunities
VUT has an startup incubation office called VITTBI where students with startup ideas are provided seed funding to start.These companies offered internship opportunities for various technical and non technical roles in which students can enroll and obtain the required experience.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from their fourth year.During the last placements many IT and non-IT companies visited the college and did recruit students.The highest CTC offered was around 1cr. Companies like Amazon,Bosch,Volvo etc recruited students to their companies.From what I have heard 90% students get placed during the campus placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
VIT does have a very bad rep for their fees collected every year from the students.Apart from the academic fee hostel fee also has to be paid which in total becomes a very huge sum.As for scholarships VIT does provide it to students who require and are talented.
Campus Life
At the campus there are two major fests Riveria and Gravitas.Both these fests are usually conducted for 4-5 days.Riviera brings in people from different colleges and have concerts and events for students to enjoy.Sports facilities include a football ground ,3 gyms,a cricket ground etc.Tgere are student run clubs and chapters which engage and provide exposure.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are of different types like there are 8,6,4,3,2 and 1 bedded rooms.The rooms are very basic.The worst part about hostels is the bathrooms which is not cleaned and is usually dirty (This depends on the block which is allotted),Hostels are allotted according to one's CGPA and the person with highest cgpa can choose the block and his roomates
Admission
For any student to get an admission at VIT he/she should have completed their high school graduation with an aggregate of 60% in PCM.Every year the VIT management releases an application form which has to be submitted and an exam called VITEEE has to attended.The admission process was smooth and easy for me.
