Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course as I wanted to do all three- communication media, English and psychology. Faculties for media are excellent, English are mixed and psychology might not be the best. For Psychology I would say relying on faculty is not preferable. The syllabus is amazing for psych. English it is quite good. Media is amazing again. 40 percent is required to pass which is doable.

Internships Opportunities

4

Companies like MyCaptain come with courses and then select students as interns too. Inside of campus itself there are many internship opportunities for example I am part of Vignette Windows which is a content writer's club. We keep having some certificate courses or internships for psychology as research assistants etc.

Placement Experience

3.5

Campus placements start in the final year. For media companies like Reuters, Times, Deccan Herald, Network 18, Sportsstar, Accenture and a lot more. The highest package offered was 8 LPA. I plan to do Masters while working part-time as a writer

Fees and Financial Aid

If you are a Karnataka board student you get a concession of 20000. Otherwise other boards need to pay more. Concessions may be provided with SC/ST OBC reservation and all. NRIs have to pay more. There are quite a few scholarships. All info can be found in the website.

Campus Life

5

Life at CHRIST is happening. No other university I know of has so many clubs and fests. Every day the campus celebrates some or other fest and the best part is all the clubs are student-run right from management and logistics till sponsors.

Admission

Eligibility: 10+2 from any recognised Board in India Application dates form and fees: All from the CHRIST UNIVERSITY website Admission process: for my batch, it was online, but now it is on location on the campus you selected.

Interview Experience

4

Personal Interview was taken. They want to see your confidence, and how well you can defend yourself. Always prepare a proper self-introduction so they ask you questions from the intro itself. For media, freshen up your current affairs as they might ask your opinions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA English curriculum at the Central University of Karnataka is comprehensive and academically relevant. The course covers British Literature, American Literature, Indian Writing in English, Literary Theory, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies, providing students with a strong foundation in language and literature. The interdisciplinary approach under NEP and the availability of electives were among the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course.

Placement Experience:

The university does have a placement team which faculy and student led. Studnets become eligible for placements towards the end of their fourth year - last semeter. Approximately 100-150 NGO's come to campus for recruiting. The university does not promote private firms for placement but students can apply indivitually. The average pay is 20 Lakh per year. Many students after undergraduation opt for higher studies, so is my plan. But most of the master's students opt for placement and 98% - 99% get placed into NGO in top positions. I plan to pursure a masters degree after my undergraduation, preferably in economics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We get to learn many things not because of just the syllabus and courses but also because of the national and international conferences that are held in our college. People from other colleges come in and share their knowledge with us. This experience is really good for us students. We even have expert lectures from our alumnis who give us advice on what all is required in the world outside college to earn. All these are really helpful.
