Course Curriculum Overview

3

I was attracted to the research and internship opportunities. I feel the curriculum doesn't do well to prepare the students for real-world applications, While the college does provide opportunities, most students have to prepare themselves using online resources. There are also a lot of room for students to cheat through assignments and practical exams which have the potential to increase skills of students. The frequency of exams are good for first year, but in later semesters we have two 3 hours of exams in one hectic day. Difficulty level is easy, Even with one week of preparation students can achieve a very good score.

Internships Opportunities

4

We have great internship opportunities, companies like Microsoft, cisco , Adobe, Autodesk provide internship for students. Internship opportunities really start from 3rd sem & 5th sem. Since I am only in first year, I don't have much experience with internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are the best thing about this college. At semester 7 students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like ADOBE (3 offers), Amazon (10 offers), DE Shaw (2 offers), Tata steel (4) , Jio (5), Paytm (5), G.E (4) , DBOI (9) , Fanatics (5) and other big names visit us. Highest package was 55 lakhs (CSE) and overall average package is 13 lakhs per annum. On average 75% students get placed. After the degree, I'll run my own buisness.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees is mostly constant for all semesters. Considering (for 4 years) 8 lakh rupees for tuition fees and hostel fees, and 2 lakhs (taking 4000 rupees per month) for cost of living, a gen/obc student with above 5 lakhs annual income will be able to complete his/her education in about 10-12 lakhs rupees. GEN/OBC students under 5 lakhs family income only pay 1/3rd of the tuition fees SC & GEN/OBC under 1 lakh family income don't pay any tuition fee. Scholarships are available, some names are Reliance Foundation scholarship, Post metric scholarship for SC/ST/OBC Chhattisgarh, NHFDC Scholarship, IOCL Scholarship, etc. I have not yet gotten any campus employment, since I'm only in 2nd sem.

Campus Life

2.5

Campus life depends on the person. College life here is very leniant, and provides great amount of freedom to the student. It is up to the student to use the freedom to go out and have a social and exciting campus life. There are decent amount of clubs and events. It is easy to get into clubs and have fun as a volunteer in first year, and it is increasingly more difficult to get into clubs at higher semesters. Club involvement provides a position of responsibility for the students. Infrastructure and campus size is not very good IMO. It is not at all what one student will dream during his JEE preparation. The College can only place 30% of the students in hostels, rest of us have to adjust in private hostels/PGs. Library is also not good. I am a fiction lover and I have not yet found a single good english novel. Though it has a decent collection of course study books. Classrooms are also not very good. They feel like school classroom.

Admission

I had to give the JEE Mains entrance exam. Admission was done through JOSAA and CSAB counseling, and it was very simple and easy. I am a home-state student and I got admission to the ECE branch at around 33000 rank. The cutoff is not very high for this college. You must be 12th pass, have taken maths subject, have higher than 75% in class 12th CBSE, and took a maximum of 2-year drop. What I don't like is the number of JEE Mains papers that are there, different papers will have different difficulties and topic weightage which increases the luck factor in your all-India rank. My suggestion for improvement would be to decrease the amount of papers conducted in JEE Mains.

The placement of our college pretty good for the higher branch like Cse , Ece , IT but for lower branches like ours is very low Only 5-10 students got placed last year from biotech . Whereas the placement percentage of Cse is around 90% . The highest package offered was 56 LPA , that is told us in Induction Program.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason why I chose this curriculum is because I've a keen interest in computer programming. The exams aren't really hard if you know the basics and the curriculum. The Faculties are well educated but low-key outdated. Speaking of curriculum, I feel like the curriculum is super outdated and needs to be changed.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to sit in campus placements after or during 3rd yr in btech. Intership guidance is also provided in 2nd yr onwards . Highest package of 2023 is 33 lpa with avg. Package of 5lpa. For branch like mechanical more than 90% students are placed. My plan is to take management minor in 2nd yr. And after graduation I will either go for MBA or first get placed and continue MBA while having a job.
