Remarks

According to me, our college has only one bad mark. The distance. We have to go around 4 km I terior to perundurai to reach the college. Buses will not be available at night times. Auto fares are very high. Autos charge 90/- for the single person to reach college from bus stand.

Entrance Preview

I scored 194.25 Engineering cutoff and thats more than enough for me to get a mechanical seat in kongu Engineering College. I selected this college based on the rank list released by TNEA. I chosed Mechanical based on my Interest.

Internships Opportunities

No. But they conduct many workshops and international conferences. They will update the info at the website kongu.ac.in

Placement Experience

4.5

According to Mechanical department, my HOD takes lots of new efforts every year to increase the placement status. According to the present year, 47 pure mechanical core companies visited our college. Along with them, Software companies like Odessia, Honeywell, Accentyre, Wipro, CTS also recruit the students. The placement status is around 87 percent.

College Events

4.5

There will be many events conducted in our college. Some of the Mechanical events are Ignitro, Imperium, Mxcel, Inauguration of MEA, Mintra and many more like workshops. In this Mxcel is a International level Technical Symposium, which help other college students to develop their knowledge

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is similar to many other colleges. For boys, The hostel fee is around 60,000 for all the years. Educational fee may be around 90,000 per year for counselling students. For management 10,000 is extra for every year. There will be additional charges for books.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes. Many scholarship schemes are available in our college. They give scholarship based on castes, based in marks etc. For academic excellence they are offering a good scholarship. I receive nearly 10,000 every year as scholarship as i scored good marks in 12th.

Campus Life

4

Honestly, the gender ratio of Mechanical is 97:3. For other departments, they are equal. The convention center of kongu engineering college is the second largest in Asia. The ground is also very big and both boys and girls can utilize them. Every department has a separate laboratory which enriches students knowledge in a very good way.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel facilities are not bad. The food may be hygienic. The hostel rooms may be of different types like 4 member rooms, 2 member rooms etc.. They also open two new hostels in this year for the final year students. They are also planning to develop facilities like Gym in all the hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. Our college will conduct alumni meet very often and they also make the alumni to get interacted with the currently studying students. This will help the students to understand the outer world scenario.

Exam Structure

Exams may be conducted thrice in a sem. The type of pattern they undergo is Continuous Assesment. Hence, all the three internal exams are mandatory and there will be one model practical at the end of the semester. Semester exams may be conducted for a period of 3 hrs.

Admission

As soon as TNEA released the counseling ranklist, I got a chance to attend the counselling on the third day. I was a little nervous whether the top 15 colleges would have already filled. But due to God's grace,I got a seat in reputed institution. All the majors were available whereas Mechanical seats are just 11 when i choose that. After completing my counseling, i got my allotment order and i went to kongu engineering college. There, they welcomed us in a pleasant manner and their infrastructure impressed me. There were full greeneries all over the college and the students were in a good disciplined manner. They asked me to take xerox copy of all my certificates and they got my originals and they also instructed me about rules and regulations.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties are very knowledged persons. They guide the students not only in studies but also in project sides also. They work along with the students to get the success rates. They also keep their knowledge updated by doing NPTEL courses. They also share their knowledge.
