What Students Say

Likes

The environment. The campus lies in lush greenery. It is near Hirakud dam. So there are many tourist spots.
The seniors. The seniors are quite good and help ful .
The cost of education is very low . It is very reasonable

Dislikes

Campus is not confined. It is an open campus.
The hostel food for first year students is very bad.
The ragging culture of past. Which makes this place scary.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The curriculum is some how out dated that doesn't provide present world factory experiences but it is good for gate syllabus. So many students opt for higher studies as the curriculum allows us to choose electives from various options.

Class Size: 76Course Fees: INR 41400 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internships are not given to first year students. For first year you have to search for internships yourself. But then onwards worthy and good scoring students are given internship opportunities.its mandatory to do atleast an internship before 4th year.

Placement Experience

The core branch placements are good. Mechanical took most of the placements this year. While circuital branch placements are not quite good. From our branch most of the students opt for higher studies as chemical Engg branch has high research opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for one year here is about 50000 so the whole education fees will be under 5 lakhs. So the course fee here is very minimal compared to other colleges.also various scholarships are available for worthy students.

Campus Life

The college infrastructure is not so good. It needs development. Though clubs are the best part about our college.this is where we compete with other iits and nits. Starting from racing club to literature club we have almost 15 clubs all technical and cultural. Clubs give us much outlook then the course curriculum.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel rooms are okay to manage. But the mess food is the worst. Many student face health problems eating this food and drinking unclean water. insects and foreign elements are found in hostel foods .

Hostel Fee: INR 48000 per year

Admission

Done through OJEE counselling. OJEE takes JEE percentile. For being eligible for the Chemical Engg branch atleast 70 percentile is required in JEE. There's reservation for SC/ST and students completing intermidiate and matriculation from odisha government college. The admission process is time taking. There's large gap between allotment and college reporting.

Decent faculty and top tier placements, just follow the rules

Likes

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

Dislikes

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

DRIEMS UNIVERSITY review after 5 year of frustrating experience legacy will be continued ????....

Likes

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Buckle up Journey in Vssut

I have applied to only Outr(formerly Cet Bhubaneswar). I have applied on the technical branches, but got none of them as my rank was around 152000. As Cet is not very good for its core branches, so I preferred Vssut over it. To get technical branches in cet bhubaneswar your rank should be under 50000 in Jee mains. The admission process is through the OJEE COUNSELLING. It is the counselling only for the students of odisha and anyone out of Odisha appearing the OJEE examination. The eligibility of our college is 45 percent. The admission process is quite hassle free. As once you got the seat in ojee counselling....Read More

I applied for outr Bhubaneswar and vssut burla. I was getting electrical branches in both the colleges. But in outr there are not enough hostels for student neither the campus is that much attracting. O the other hand vssut have total 11 hostel and can accommodate every student studying and the campus is also somewhat good. But for csit branches there are not enough facilities in vssut To get admission here you have to get a rank in jee main exam and have to go through ojee counselling. To get to cse branch your all India rank must be within 1lakhs and for electrical branch its about 1.5lakhs and for lower branches production rank does not matter that must there are seats pending vacant you can get them via spot counselling...Read More
