Likes

I liked the Laboratory facility and Experienced faculty members.
The sports opportunities and extra curricular activities,skill development opportunities.
The club culture,this is the best thing according to me in vssut.

Dislikes

There is no closed campus,that is the biggest con ..
The 75 % attendance criteria, this is so boaring.
The return time to hostel is 6 pm , this is so disgusting.

.There is a broad future in chemical engineering course in India and as well as out side country. .College focuses on practical knowledge gain of students.because in vssut there are no lack of equipment in labs. .There is nothing to improve. .Exam are Descent not very easy.

Internships Opportunities

There are not specific internships I know about.But according to senior and alumni of our college there are many internship option are available most of them are for circuital branch . Some of them are cirtificate based and some other are stipend.

Placement Experience

Only 4th year students are get opportunities in campus placement offers in vssut. There are total 88 company visited in 2022-23 and 861 offers were given. FOR core branch Vssut is highly recommended, because core competencies like vedanta, maruti suzuki and other many companies visit and a avarage package of 7-8 lpa is provided. In software Amazon offered a highest package of 46 lpa. And avarage package in software jobs is 8 lpa . Placement percentage is 92%. My plans are simply getting a PSU by qualifying gate .

Fees and Financial Aid

In the era of technical education our college fee structure is very low.which is a biggest pros . Total cost of 4-5 lakh . There are many scholarships options for students.govement as well as private. Campus placement offers are good. In 2k23 total no of 808 students placed out of 1100 students.

Campus Life

There is a annual tech fest -VASSUNT and annual cultural fest -SAMAVESH.and other fest like techtronix and live gen,etc . Access to a wide range of book and journal ,with odisha 's one of oldest library. Smart classroom. In sports VSSUT is in the front among other colleges in odisha.there are huge achievement of vssut in sports. Also in tech there are many clubs,around 15 clubs are in vssut. Vssut is the only college including iits and iisc where isro developed a space research centre,and signed mou with.

Hostel Facilities

3 Bed ,3 table,1 ceiling fan,2 tube light,2big cupboard are provided in the room. Basic emnitei are present like - Water purifier, Washing machine,6 toilet and 6 bathroom for one floor. There are 8 floor in 1 block and 4 total block . Lift facility available. Hostel registration and fee payment process happen through the college website in online mode. There are many local PG are present.

Hostel Fee: INR 48000 per year

Admission

.Basically any one having a descent jee main score can get to vssut. .The joining process is through josaa counseling and ojee counseling.joining process is simple . .There is reservation for -tfw,ex service man,sc,st ,out laying odia and physically handicapped persons. .The semester exam generally conducted in 4-5 month,1-internal ,1-end sem in each sem. .There is also a sliding round in the counseling process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Likes

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Have collabs with IBM, Samsung, Capgemini for RnD and NUS singapore , University of North Texas
Our college has hosted International Conferences like IEEE InGAARS 2025and Indocrypt 2025, where scientists had came from NASA, ISRO, all IITs, Foreign Universities, etc
Exposure is Good. The teachers here put efforts to teach and research. Unlike other colleges where teachers comes and roll out PPTs, here every teacher teaches on Board explaining everything properly

Dislikes

Few teachers speak in Odia accent, so it takes couple weeks to adjust
Campus is kind of small (36acres), but its good area for a IIIT, considering IIIT delhi is just 25 acres
3 occupancy hostels for 1st years (same goes for any other NIT/IIIT), but they have a option of single rooms from 2nd year

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem, students are eligible almost 100 companies visited including IBM, VISA, Infosys, DE Shaw etc. Highest is 63 LPA and avg is 12-13LPA 90% placements I may consider doing MBA if I dont get very big package

My college is best

Likes

Things I like is to good faculty, garden.
VSSUT provides the best amenities and bathrooms.
Excluding hostel & other facilities are like good.

Dislikes

The water quality is not good at all from mess side.
The drainage system is not maintained well.
The surroundings are not clean and the guarda are strict.

Placement Experience:

Some say that the celllege has better placements, but that the salary is not very lucrative. Infosys, Tata Steel, IBM, Wipro, Cisco Systems, Larsen and Cognizant, Maruti Suzuki, Adani Group. My plans are to go to better iim for mba

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.

Buckle up Journey in Vssut

I have applied to only Outr(formerly Cet Bhubaneswar). I have applied on the technical branches, but got none of them as my rank was around 152000. As Cet is not very good for its core branches, so I preferred Vssut over it. To get technical branches in cet bhubaneswar your rank should be under 50000 in Jee mains. The admission process is through the OJEE COUNSELLING. It is the counselling only for the students of odisha and anyone out of Odisha appearing the OJEE examination. VSSUT as seen by 2nd years

I applied for outr Bhubaneswar and vssut burla. I was getting electrical branches in both the colleges. But in outr there are not enough hostels for student neither the campus is that much attracting. O the other hand vssut have total 11 hostel and can accommodate every student studying and the campus is also somewhat good. But for csit branches there are not enough facilities in vssut To get admission here you have to get a rank in jee main exam and have to go through ojee counselling. To get to cse branch your all India rank must be within 1lakhs and for electrical branch its about 1.5lakhs and for lower branches production rank does not matter that must there are seats pending vacant you can get them via spot counselling...Read More
