Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose to study political science for various reasons, such as a passion for understanding political systems, interest in governance and policymaking,or a desire to make a difference in society through political engagement and activism. It also provides knowledge about the state's constitution, laws and duties. •It helps me to discover how can I serve to my society for the welfare of the minority or depressed section.A form of advocacy is developed in my mind.It prepares me for my further academic as if I want to become a professor of my own course also in my own college and politician or want to take part in any of the government body that would be somehow easy for me. • If we are a student of Pol science then we must Study it with reference to the real life experience or understanding as it is happening to us so that we can better understand it and can also teach better than before by giving wider examples.Reading frequency must be maintained and your writing speed should be fast.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement of Deshbandhu College is 4.17 LPA which is quite good enough for the students and Students can fulfil their own basic need from this. This is the best option for the poor students whom parents are also not capable to afford the college fee but anyhow they managed it for their children. This placement will helps them a lot. But placement needs a lot of capabilities or skills in the students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is not so high as per the fees of our college is affordable and we have many other expenses other than college as of travelling and staying expenses. If we are leaving far away from our houses we have to pay the rent of our rooms and food the total expenses should be reasonable price.

Campus Life

4

My experience in my college is Best, more than I expected to. Our college has organised a number of fests along with various seminars. A recent fest our pol science department named Polienz was organised where DR.TANU JAIN was invited as a chief guest and she shares so many important things which will help us in making our future brighter. • A number of books are available for the students to read accordingly. • Good facilities are provided to the students containing PLACEMENT CELLS of the college which helps the students who are not affordable to pay the required fees of the college or the rooms if they are living far from home. • Sports& extracurricular activities inspired a lot of students to take part in it as Study is not everything student must enjoy the college beside books. As I am also a part of NSS(Media Team) and our team organised many events for the students.Recently we organised a self defence camp for the girls, where they could become fearless and move ahead confidently

Admission

The Admission Process was not that much easy as it looks like. Firstly I filed a form to give the entrance exam (CUET)so that I could get admission in DU and read out all the instructions that must be followed. After giving exam , when the result is out and you got your result The next step is to FILL THE PREFERENCE LIST which you fill accordingly your marks and the course or college you want . Then after a couple of days you finally get opted your college and course on official website i.e. Samarth.gov.in So if you are satisfied with your course and college you choose the option FREEZE and if you expect something better then you choose the option UPGRADE. Total three rounds are there , if you choose your college in 1st round then good if not then try for second or third, after these rounds get completed you have to fill your college admission form (submit your fee) and then got a receipt through you can enter in your college.

Other Applied Colleges

Chandigarh University - [CU] | Bachelor of Laws [L.L.B.]

Because I found DELHI UNIVERSITY's Colleges far better than this and also the environment of DU campus is more effective for students than Chandigarh University.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
