Remarks

Its a new Institute so infrastructure was not that great initially but it is one of the fastest growing NIT and will be at par with other NITs soon.

Entrance Preview

I gave AIEEE 2010 to get into NIT Goa my AIR was somewhere around 8400 i chose NIT Goa because its mentor institute was NITK Surathkal at that time and the location was great.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Since the mentor institute was NITK Surathkal, the course curriculum is exactly same as NITK Surathkal being one of the NITs, the curriculum is in line with any other premier institute of the country.

Internships Opportunities

I interned in DRDO Hyderabad. It was a great learning experience this was an unpaid internship so there was no stipend some of the students from the institute got the opportunity to inter at CERN, Switzerland.

Placement Experience

4

Placements have been improving year by year. I am from the first batch and around 70% of the batch was placed at that time with an average package of around 4.5 lpa.

College Events

3

They have a cultural cum tech fest called Technival also there is an annual sports event called Invictus this was when I was there, I don't know about the current events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

During my time (2010 14) the fees was around 40,000 Rs per semester around 18,000 was tuition Fee and the remaining 22,000 was hostel and mess fees apart from that the monthly expenses were around 3000 to 5000 depending on your life style.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were many for SC/ST candidates but for the General and the OBC candidates there was no scholarship available at my time.

Campus Life

2

Since I am from the first batch of the institute, at my time it was all building up we started most of the things and it was very temporary things might have changed by now.

Hostel Facilities

2

During my time (2010 14), we only had temporary infrastructure so the conditions were not that great slowly they'll move to new campus and the facilities will be at par with any other NIT.

Alumni/Alumna

They do have an official alumni network, but it is not very active as of now but students are very friendly and you can reach out to them through unofficial groups and pages of the institute on the social networks.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is like any other NIT we have a mid semester exam with 25% weightage, end semester exam for with 50% weightage and remaining 25% is continuos evaluation in for of tests and quizzes.

Faculty

3.5

Although initially there were just temporary faculty, but lately they have been hiring only PHDs as permanent faculty and the condition is improving slowly.

Placement Experience:

I have no clue but the highest placements are in Computer and IT branches. Civil has probably the least placement. The quality is good thanks to IIT and NIT being in the same campus thus the big companies that come to those colleges also come to our colleges but they prefer those students more because NIT and IIT are more prestigious colleges.

Campus placement is okay okay but not that great . Mech and civil don't have that much package avg of around 6 lakh and i guess only 10-11 got placed .. and 16-17 was eligibile for it. For eligible to placement you don't have any backlog in any subject and some minimum cgpa required too
